There are over a thousand hotels in Pokhara but my favourite lakeside hotel is the Silver Oaks Inn. I have been staying there over the past ten years and it was wonderful to return there in July 2022 for the first time in over two years and find everything as good as previous years. The entrance garden is beautiful and lovingly cared for and the foyer is clean and spacious. Silver Oaks is family run and many of the staff have been with them for years. The rooms are very clean and it was good to find the bathrooms have been renovated. You can also do any washing up on the roof and hang it there, or send it to the local laundry. They also have a travel desk and can organise transport, day trips or treks. Breakfast is included in the room rate and you can enjoy the beautiful front garden or sit inside in the dining area. It is just a short walk down the road to the lovely Lake Phew Tal. Can highly recommend Silver Oaks Inn in Pokhara.

My wife and I spent a month here during quarantine and we couldn’t have had a better stay. Everyone was so nice and accommodating in every way. The owner gave us a discount because of the lockdown and they even gave us free meals from time to time.
Highly recommended to all

"Chill and Trek" trip in Pokhar
I stayed in this hotel during my trip in Pokhara from February 11 to 20 February. To start the location is simply ideal, close to the lake and the various points of interest. Nepali staff are so friendly and attentive to your needs. Finally, the rooms are excellent as well at the breakfast. I recommend it !!! Dhanyvaad 🙏🏻

The Silver Oaks Inn offers clean, comfortable rooms at an affordable price. It's located in a quiet side street, just a five-minute walk from Lake Fewa. The staff are friendly and helpful, and there's a pretty decent selection of food on offer at breakfast time.
There are a few things that could be improved, however. Given the bathrooms are essentially wet rooms, with the shower attached to the wall, mats could be provided to prevent accidental falls and slips. It would also help if basic toiletries, such as soap and shampoo, were offered, particularly for guests only staying a night or two before or after trekking.
The staff also need to be better trained regarding information about local transportation. I'd read prior to coming to Pokhara that there was a local bus service from the airport. After waiting 30 minutes with no sign of a bus, I called the hotel for more information. I was informed by the receptionist that the buses *probably* were not running because of the holiday (Dashain). So, my fellow traveller and I took a rather pricey taxi. Prior to checking out, I asked another staff member about buses back out to the airport, and he said the airport bus connection had ceased to exist. (Further searching online would suggest it is in fact alive and well, but the information provided by the Silver Oaks Inn staff left me thoroughly confused.)

We stayed only two nights of our intended stay of 6 nights as we had to quickly return to India as it was closing its borders to foreigners at midnight due to the corona virus. Silver Oaks is a great place, excellent location with a lovely garden to relax in. The rooms are clean and the staff very attentive. The included breakfast and cappuccinos were the best of all of our stays. Manager Bikram had us booked on two flights to get to India within 40 minutes of us receiving the travel advisory. Thank you and we are very grateful for your help at what became a very stressful time.

A fantastic place to stay in Pokhara! Comfy rooms, good breakfast, good location, but above all a lovely friendly family atmosphere and incredibly helpful staff. Dilu especially took great care to make sure the trips, which he organised for me, went smoothly. He accompanied me to watch the the sunrise behind Annapurna at 5am, and saw me off at the bus station when I went to Chitwan, checking in frequently while I was there to make sure everything was going OK. He also found a local agent to get a plane ticket to Lumbini for me, which was a lot cheaper than anything I could find online - as well as organising accommodation and transport for me for when I get there too. So I’d like to thank him and the rest of the staff for making everything so welcoming, enjoyable, and hassle-free!

Super friendly staff during the stay really clean and breakfast was freshly prepared and friendly atmosphere feel like home. The beautiful garden with bird sound was really amazing. The hotel itself located in handy distance to the lake. The staffs were so responsive to your requirement. We stayed here before the trek and after our trek too. They assist us to keep the luggage in storage which we do not need for the trek. Also booked a guide and he is smart and knowledgeable. Sajnaya was nice and able to help quite well if you wanted to book anything. It’s a budget hotel with high standards of hospitality and services great value for money. We will definitely comeback again. Highly recommended.

Varun_travellor asked a question Sep 2019
Mumbai, Maharashtra, India185 contributions45 helpful votesDo you have rooms in the hround floor / elevator for upper floor access?
Sorry we don't have elevator at our hotel and our room starts from 1st floor not ground floor.
Thank you
Sorry, We don't have them at our hotel.
Hey! It depends on where you're going honestly. We walked around mostly and took a cab when we went to temples and etc. We took the bus (I forgot the name) to go to Pokhara from Kathmandu and it was around $20 (it had a bathroom inside the bus).
Just one thing to note is - Haggle. You'd have to bargain a lot with the Cabs. They will talk about the fuel crisis but if you haggle then it will lower its price by half!
Hope this helps!
yes ok no problems we will keep room for you
thank you.
