A note from Raniban Retreat

#7 of 259 Specialty lodging in Pokhara
Travelers' Choice
Raniban Retreat is perched on a secluded ridge top 700m above The Phewa lake, and the town of Pokhara.Reach us by rowing boat and trekking on a well made trail, or by road in 15 minutes from Lakeside, and you will be a world away from the grime and noise of Lakeside tourist hotels. The World Peace Pagoda is our only neighbour. The stunning view is what really makes us special. From our rooms and terraces we enjoy heart stopping views to the mighty Annapurna range, Phewa Lake, and the Peace Stupa. All our rooms are cosy when it's colder, cool when it's hot and look out onto the stunning view to the north. Our excellent restaurant menu features seasonal specials, and many dishes feature herbs and vegetables grown in our own organic gardens.

My trip to Raniban Retreat was a much needed escape from the everyday monotony. Since the pandemic started, I have been wary about traveling but Raniban Retreat felt safe and clean. The staff were taking appropriate measures and the retreat had limited occupancy to ensure safety. We took a boat across the lake and hiked up to the Retreat which took us a little over an hour. The hike along the scenic path was absolutely beautiful but the views during the day AND night were even more breathtaking from the Retreat. It was cloudy day when we visited but it was still refreshing and peaceful. I can only imagine how beautiful the views must be on a clear day! Raniban Retreat is the perfect place to reflect and rejuvenate. We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to visit again soon!

Usually when we ended up in Pokhara, we stayed at the lakeside keeping us intact with the hustle bustle of the lake city but this time we friends decided to detox from the crowd and go somewhere serene, We reached Raniban late at night and the view from the top and the feels was surreal, we could literally feel far away from the crowd but so near to it, The hospitality was amazing and also the food was fresh and worthy, We did yoga while we glared at the mountains !! Went for a hike down to the lake where we took a boat to reach the lakecity !! Raniban was truly a blissful experience with nature and luxury going side by side !! For people looking to escape, Raniban is worth it 😃😃

It was an amazing experience, really the best place we have ever been; we will never forget the kindness, attentions, excellent food and friendly staff. The place its just magical; i still dreaming the Mountains, the amazing sunrise, the Phewa lake view and sound of Nepali nature. A really nurturing encounter for the body and for the soul. Will definitely come back here again, really astonishing place.

I stayed at sunrise room 102. It was beautiful as it faced the sunrise although I spent most of my time at my friend's room which had the mountainside view of the Himalayan mountains. The food is excellent and catered to foreigner taste. Room service is included in the food service so you don't need to eat the restaurant (except for the breakfast). Getting here is perilous as need a 4x4 but we were lucky as we understood that last season, the roads were inaccessible and the party had to walk up to the resort.
