From the moment we made a reservation with Ganesh Himal, we immediately felt welcomed; they couldn't have been nicer! Upon arrival in this challenging environment (both borders, China & India, were closed & fuel cut off), they paved the way for a enjoyable time. They handled currency transfers at market rate, arranged transport services, including how to use the micro... More

I stayed at Hotel Ganesh Himal with a friend recently, it is a comfortable and clean hotel. The reception area is nicely decorated and there is a garden courtyard, which is great to relax in. The staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. The rooms are great value. The shower was indeed the best shower I had during my two weeks... More

We stayed here as a couple in October. We actually stayed three or four times as were back and forth in the Katmandu valley. Really liked this hotel. The decor is nice, good attention to detail throughout the hotel, all the little touches like the painted roofs and cultural and religious ornaments. The staff are all lovely, breakfast is tasty,... I have had the pleasure of staying @ the Hotel Ganesh Himal many times over the past 10 or so years! The location in the Thamel district is quiet yet close to many activities in central Kathmandu. The rooms are reasonably priced, clean, well furnished and the entire staff is excellent! There is free wifi and computers available in the... More

The staff (front desk guy) has been very helpful and nice. The decor is higher quality than I thought it would be too which is nice. They even have a nice garden area to relax in. As for the deluxe room it was very big, good bed, good bathroom and finally some good pillows in Nepal. For the price it... More

The rooms were clean but to basic for me. We asked for a high floor which we usually do but would suggest that if you have trouble with knees (like me) then pick a low floor. Some building work going on which started very early even on a Sunday so that was a bit of a shame. Staff on reception... More

Stayed here two times with family and it was good. The rooms were comfortable and clean. However the rooms don't have a private balcony, every floor has a shared but very nice one with a large lounge corner. Our fruit & curd breakfast was delicious and varied: one day banana and mango, the next day apple and pomegranate. Delicious! The... More

Have stayed at this hotel twice now and have been impressed with the service, basic clean and comfortable rooms. Was caught in the 25 April 2015 Earthquake and the staff were so attentive and caring to the guests regardless of all that was going on in their own lives. Highly recommend.

Although my room was standard it was more than enough for my needs as a solo traveler. They did forget to pick me up but they immediately reimbursed me for the cost of the car I took. They could not have been friendlier or more helpful. They arranged car service for me to various locations at a very reasonable rate.... More
