We are an eco-friendly hotel. We have made sure that we adhere to eco-friendly criteria from solar water heating system to low power consuming electrical appliances and rain-water harvesting. You will certainly feel that we are a different hotel with top class personalized service. Our solar collectors have copper pipings(very efficient in thermal conduction) with toughened glass. The solar panels heat the water upto 80 degrees celcius and the heated water is stored in a well automated electric back-up insulated tank. During monsoon(rainy season) we have made provision for rain-water harvesting. Kathmandu valley's rain-water is clear and clean. The rain-water is run through a rapid-sand-filter system which works totally through gravity. We also have an efficient filter system to filter the kathmandu's valley's water. The water has been lab-tested and we have maintained Nepal government's set standards.

I travelled from Toronto to Kathmandu recently from May 1st to May 7th, 2021. I want to congratulate the entire management team of Hotel Heranya for taking care of me. A big shout out to Mr. Sunil who took care of everything from sparing me a phone for making local calls (I lost my phone in Doha while transit) to arranging my travel requests in the middle of the lockdown in Kathmandu. I will always be very grateful to him. The food was great and the rooms were clean. I recommend hotel Heranya to everyone who is looking for a pleasant stay in Kathmandu.

A delightful heritage hotel with the most meticulously efficient staff and services . We stayed in the suite room for a week . An in house restaurant with good local and western Multi cuisine food . The location is perfect, tucked away in a private road, we were able to walk to Thamel and other tourist spots or the hotel would be able to call a taxi for us right away. They have a complimentary airport pick-up. Highly recommend it .

Heranya Hotel’s best asset is their staff. They are super polite, happy to see their guests every day and very accommodating. It changes your day when you see their smiles and this is the best thing about the hotel. The location is very good, slightly hidden away from all the traffic, but it does not guarantee a quiet night’s sleep. If you have a choice, go for the rooms facing the front, as these that face the Shanker hotel can be a little noisy. There is a little pathway just outside which means you get woken up around 6 am every day but workers and their loud conversations among other things. The rooms themselves are fine - a comfortable bed and a wardrobe with a small sitting area and a chair. There is AC, a kettle and daily supply of tea and coffee, bottled water and fruit (apples and bananas). The AC did not really provide adequate warmth, but maybe I did not know how to use the settings. It can get quite chilly at night. As the hotel is powered by solar panels, hot water was not guaranteed, i.e. not always in the evening and from about 7.15 in the morning. Daily cleaning means you arrive in a fresh room every day. Breakfast is served from 7 am, after a month however one gets a bit tired of the same thing, which is normal for everywhere we go - a choice of eggs, beans, toast and jam. There is wide selection for lunch and dinner, prices and reasonable and food is good. The only problem I had, was poor noise insulation - I could hear noise neighbours next door - this did not guarantee a good night’s sleep, which is all one wants after a day’s work. It would be nice if there was some kind of notice for guest to respect the night time, i.e between 10pm-6am please respect others and be quiet. The hotel organises airport pick ups and drops off if you need one. There is a little garden outside and a parking area. Overall, I would like to thank the staff of the hotel - everyone - for making my stay a pleasant one and for being very kind every day.
