Great location, poor hotel, rooms were dark, small. Shower area was tiny, in that one could not do a full circle within the area. There were pigeons all over the hotel, making a racket all night and early morning. Breakfast was ok, although one day the chef did not turn up so there were no freshly cooked eggs

The property is centrally located in the bustling lanes of thamel. It is wise to stay in thamel when you are in kathmandu as most of the restaurants, late night bars are all located in the vicinity. The property is great with a quaint garden in the backyard that also serves as an open air restaurant. We were checked in pretty smoothly, the presence of a lift was very beneficial. The hotel also arranged for a car for sight seeing on very short notice, which is commendable. The rates weren't exorbitant either. The breakfast buffet isnt something to rave about it does its job but can be better. In entirety, our stay at the property was pleasant.

I spent time reading some reviews of this hotel, which seemed to be good, so was very dissapointed - especially when this was priced on the higher end of hotels in the area. The room and bedding really smelt of cigarette smoke and was not very clean (hairs on the bed, floor dusty and carpet not vacuumed, cigarette smelling towels, bedding stains). Also, we did not have hot water the first night when we arrived late. The staff were very very friendly and helpful and were the saving grace of the hotel and on the second night the staff came to solve the water problem and it was fixed, although the shower itself was not great. We booked a double room but got two single beds. The breakfast was average...on the second day we did not eat it and instead went to a local restaurent. *I would like to reiterate the staff are extremely helpful, happy, polite and welcoming! The hotel itself just requires a bit of a spruce up and deep clean.*

We had to get ourselves Upgraded to suites after paying the difference of course due to the small rooms. Washrooms need up gradations even for suites. Actually they are coming up with a new Hotel next to this property so they are not much interested in the existing one. We were there for three nights. I am sharing some of the details along with the pictures of the horrific experience we had at Hotel Yukhang Kathmandu. 1. Very small rooms ( Deluxe and Super Deluxe) 2. Room needs up gradations like washrooms and mattress with springs coming out. 3. The lift was out of order mostly and we were on the 6th and 7th floor. 4. Washroom sink was having water logging. 5. Washroom vent was opening in the room itself. 6. Dirty room floors. 7. Open Nails in the almirahs 8. Flush was faulty. I wish I could post videos here to support. There are some positives as well 1. Location 2. Staff. 3. Outside sitting area.

Rooms are very clean and comfortable bed. Breakfast was very lavish with several choices. Staff are very friendly and give much attention to guest needs. Front desk team were very helpful and cooperative. They were always ready to chat with us despite being busy. A big thank you to Mr Niraj, front office manager for the warm hospitality and excellent services provided to us. He knows how to make a guest happy. See you all very soon.
