We checked in for one night upon arrival in Nepal and another night before leaving Nepal. The room is spacious and we particularly like it's location. It's located in the middle of Thamel which makes it real convenient for you to walk around to explore. We also like the small courtyard inside the hotel where you can escape from the...

I visit Potala GH regularly for years. Since last few years I started using DLX rooms instead of standard rooms and my happiness with the stay increased a lot. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, although bit aged. The bed and especially matraces are so excellent that I can only remember Leela Kempinsky hotel in Delhi to have comparable. As always...

Very nice location, very central. Can get a bit noisy, but not too bad. Nice staff, helpful. Lots of nice restaurants around... And the rooftop garden is a lovely place to have a cup of tea after a long day in the busy city! Recommend it!

We chose this guest house at random out of a guide book and paid a little more than we had hoped for it. However, in saying this, it was worth the price with cosy rooms, comfy beds, good hot showers and a great location right near the main tourist centre. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and set us up...

I've stayed there both before and after my Annapurna trek. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly. I especially liked the quiet inner garden, as well as the rooftop garden. These are nice places to relax with a cup of tea at the end of a busy day, planning your next day.

We stayed for a week. Rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet. Service is ok. A very good place to stay when you come back from the mountains or visiting Kathmandu. A small garden to rest and enjoy a cup of tea. Breakfast is good and enough for an intense morning in Thamel.

This is a pretty basic hotel...The sheets were clean, but the blankets smelt. TV, western style toilet, hot shower, free wifi in the garden area. Staff were friendly and helpful. If I wasn't so tired from my flight. I would have requested an upgrade to a better room, but It was ok for the one night I stayed there.

Some things can be controlled, some things not. For example there is no smoking in the Potala Guest House rooms but in the garden smoking is permitted. Unfortunately depending upon your room location the cigarette smoke can enter your room. The lobby due to its proximity to the garden sometimes would have the annoying smell of smoke. Be careful of...
