Inspired architecturally by traditional Nepali living space, Chhahari showcases the retro Nepali craftsmanship throughout the space.Say hello to the alternative. Say hello to Chhahari – a fantastic retreat, organic haven, powered by alternative energy, offering panoramic views of the valley and introducing you to a more wholesome lifestyle.Nestled in the lap of the Shivapuri hills, bordering the wildlife and flora rich - Shivapuri National Park, Chhahari does not do things differently. It does different things. At this quaint boutique getaway, you will not find uniformed staffs or extravagant four-course meals. No phone calls to disturb your siesta, nor a television to distract your thoughts.Chhahari shuns anything that gets in the way of relaxation and complete peace of mind. At Chhahari, let nature prod you into getting off the grid. Let your mind wander with abandon. Breathe in the fresh air of the northern hills. Take in the abundant greenery. Bask in the warm sunlight at 1600m. Listen to the sounds of the forest. Feel the afternoon breeze as it bounces off the hills. Do not rush. Take in the details. Reminisce. Replenish. Rejuvenate. At Chhahari, we understand the importance of privacy and space. For this reason, Chhahari chooses to have only a limited number of rooms at present. The emphasis quite bluntly is on you and your space and nothing else. The eco-friendly, boutique lodge bases itself on a different set of values that set an example for others to follow. Organic food, alternative energy, a focus on greenery, use of local products and the aesthetic design sense of the place – all set the mood right for guests who understand the importance of implementing these ideas in the hospitality industry.

This is truly a one-of-a-kind retreat from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. Everything from the caring and friendly staff, the wildlife, the gardens, the views of the Kathmandu Valley, the hot showers, Wifi, the incredible food to the enriching conversation with everyone. Rarely do I say that "you won't regret" something, but in this case you definitely won't regret the entire experience at Chhahari. Also... Don't forget to take advantage of the fact that there is wonderful hiking adjacent to Chhahari in the Shivpuri Nagarjun National Park!

Chhahari is a family owned and operated where they truly make you feel at home. Every detail of my 8 day stay was amazing! The staff is so caring and treats you just like family, and always available to help with any and all requests. The food was 5 star, every single meal so beautifully presented and delicious. And if you like coffee, they grow their own coffee beans and I left with 2 bags to take home, wishing I purchased even more! When you need some quiet time there is a quaint enclosed reading room to enjoy time for you or a beautiful sunrise. And if you need place to practice on your yoga mat or meditate, there is a beautiful space at the top of the lodge where you can light incense and plenty of meditation cushions to get centered. Overall, I highly recommend Chhahari for you next Nepal stay/adventures, you will surely be well taken care of! Thank you to everyone at Chhahari for the memorably stay, I miss you and Nepal and everything Chhahari so much! Namaste~

What a special place! This family-owned retreat sits on a beautiful hill overlooking Kathmandu valley. We had the best experience during our stay in Nepal and I highly recommend Chhahari as your home away from home in Nepal. You'll be off-the-beaten path but still close enough to visit all the temples, shopping, and other sites in Kathmandu. The rooms are clean and quiet, views are beautiful, the food (and coffee!) are some of the best we had in Nepal, and the staff is so warm and welcoming. I especially loved the open-air terrace to enjoy meals or sip on tea. Plus, they are fully eco-conscious, including solar-powered.
