The region of Katmandu where this hotel is situated is a very busy tourist area. The narrow streets can be a little intimidating for an American at first, but soon the proximity is much sppprecuated. Despite the location, this hotel is very quiet and calming. There is a roof

Is non-veg available in the breakfast or in the restaurant?
There were some limited meat and some egg options as I remember. The food offering is not extensive (but the place is good value) and there are better choice restaurants close by if you need a steak for breakfast.

the main street is very busy business street with a lot of restaurants, shops, hotels, locals and tourists. shops usually close between 9pm - 10pm. it takes less than 5 minutes walk from main street to hotel friends home. along the small lane, will pass by some shops, tea shops & restaurant. a few hotels located at the same area. make sure you bring a hotel name card, easily get lost in that area.

Hi, I too had a few questions before booking which I emailed to the hotel at the address noted by other users. I received a very quick and thorough reply from the hotel management. One can book directly or through a booking engine -- if you use the latter, I recommend checking with several (Kayak, Momondo, Expedia, etc.) to see what prices are available. When we booked, there was quite a big variance in the room rates from site to site. I also believe that there are some government payment restrictions if one books directly with the hotel -- perhaps payment has to be made upon arrival in a specific foreign currency (?). We booked online so we did not face that, but I believe the front desk made reference to it when we requested airport transportation. You might check if you are making payment when you arrive.
