Wake up every morning to the beautiful view of mountains and the sound of birds chirping. This bed and breakfast is simply perfect and extremely peaceful. The hosts are so welcoming and extremely accommodating. If you come to Kathmandu this place is a must.
Lovely hosts that treat you like family. Delicious food every single day that is made from wholsome and fresh produce. Amazing view morning and night. Very accommodating, peaceful and aesthetic environment.
Laxmi's B&B is run to help support the wonderful orphanage next door. You can meet Laxmi - she's the amazing mum that runs the orphanage. Her son, Hugo (my spelling) and Anita run the guest house and they are just lovely. Nothing is too much trouble and they are so welcoming and friendly. We really enjoyed our meals and chats with Anita and Hugo. Okay - it's a little tricky to get to but it's well worth the effort and they have quick access to taxis that know the way. The views are wonderful and you are in fresh mountain air. The rooms are very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay very much.
I couldn't imagine how my trip would have been without staying at this B&B. This was my first solo trip out of the USA, and the hosts, Yugal and Anita, treated me like family from my first day off the plane. Knowing little about Nepal and Kathmandu upon my arrival, Yugal and Anita were an invaluable resource that helped me navigate the city and taught me a lot about the local culture. The food was delicious, the area is beautiful, calm, and the air is noticeably cleaner here than towards the city center. There are great hiking paths nearby if you're interested in that, and the surrounding community is very welcoming. The only drawbacks I can think of is that it takes 15-20 minutes to walk to the main street if you want to take a bus, but you can get a cab directly to the B&B if you don't want to walk. Also, my room didn't have an air conditioner, but I only remember one night where it was uncomfortably warm during my 5 week stay in the middle of the summer. The profits from this place help fund the nearby Kinderhouse, so I felt good about the money I was spending to stay here. The price was also very affordable, less than what I have to pay for rent back home. I fully intend to stay here again if and when I come back to Nepal. The friends and memories I made through this B&B will stay with me forever and I can't wait to return someday! Sidenote: If you are coming to Kathmandu to volunteer at the KAT Centre, I highly recommend this place because the walk there is not far and I met several fellow volunteers staying here.…
Room was great, breakfast was very good and cosy with the other guests and the environment breathtaking. We were invited to celebrate Tihar, Laxmi’s puja, with the family. A wonderful experience. We visited the temple in Budhanilkantha with the sleeping Vishnu and when you’re able ti hike, it is a great hike up to the monastery.
