We had a wonderful stay at shambaling. The location is very convenient and accessible to Boudhanath stupa, yet quiet and a peaceful property away from the hustle and bustle. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable with all of our queries, and made us feel at home. We also enjoyed the food at the hotel. We will definitely come back here again.
This hotel is a dream!!! it is away from the busy downtown area but still within walking distance to some attractions and a short ride away from the city center. The place has local, traditional vibes and very kind, friendly staff. The service is one of the best I have ever had.
The best hotel in Kathmandu! Finally, after 3 years back in Nepal! As many times before, I was very much looking forward to spending my days in the beautiful Hotel Shambaling. The outdoor area has been renewed and is very cozy with various sofas and comfortable chairs, the reception has also been renewed, as well as the restaurant. At the Hotel Shambaling you will receive a very warm welcome! The service, the food, the friendliness of the staff, the clean and cozy Rooms, kept in Tibetan style, just everything top! A plus is also the proximity to the Stupa Boudha! I highly recommend Hotel Shambaling! For me, there is no other hotel in Kathmandu!
I have been staying with Shambaling Hotel for years. A very trusted hotel. If you want to feel the vibe of hotel outside of hustle and bustle, this is a good place. Staffs are kind and attentive. Rooms are comfortable. And they are evolving and building more better rooms! Looking forward to stay back soon.
Staying in shambaling hotel is allways great. Its an oasis in the busy life of Kathmandu. Quiet, clean and giving a feeling of home. The friendly stuff is giving a very good Service! The Restaurant serves really good food...go and try it! We have seen many Hotels in Kathmandu, shambaling is one of the best !
This was a return too the Shambaling and it was as good as ever. Quiet and peaceful setting, a few minutes walk from the Stupa at Boudah. Lovely comfortable well equipped rooms, professional and friendly staff and excellent food. A delight to eat breakfast in the garden. Highly recommended.
Our stay at Shambling Boutique Hotel was both an amazing start for our visit to Nepal as well as a beautiful gift for Christmas. Every little detail was so charming and full of heartwarming hospitality. It started with the smooth and welcoming pick-up from the airport, the warm reception, and continued with the tastefully decorated room, the perfect cleanliness, hot water (in Nepali winter) and the incredibly cosy bed. The food was just another highlight: breakfast set in the serene garden and dinner in the restaurant under the Christmas tree, we enjoyed every delicious bite and sip. But what stood out the most was the skilful and truly caring staff. Whenever even a hint of a wish arose, someone was already there to make it come true. Always gentle, always with a solution right on the spot and always with a bright smile. This is hospitality at it's best. Dear Shambling team, thank you very much for making our stay feel like coming home for Christmas!…
My suite was large and very tastefully decorated, with a big bathroom and good shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. The staff were all charming and very helpful, in fact went out of their way to help. The food was excellent, freshly cooked and a good selection on the menu. It will certainly be my first choice when I return to Kathmandu.
This is my all time favourite hotel. It’s a beautifully presented hotel with comfortable rooms and an excellent restaurant serving both local and continental cuisine to a high standard. It’s set in the heart of the Boudha district of KMD and near the No 1 attraction the Boudenhath Stupa which is a joy to visit. The local Tibetan and Nepali shops are close by. You will not be disappointed booking this hotel, I cannot wait to return 🙏
I have been a couple of times in this fantastic hotel at a stone throw from Bodnath stupa. Submerge yourself in the Buddhist vibe, wake up with Buddhist chanting and enjoy a great breakfast in the sunny garden. Great and friendly staff. Their hot shower after a Nepalese legendary jeep ride or trekking is a day changer and I can definitely recommend their tasty paneer sizzzzzzler.
