Hotel Tibet is wonderful. The lobby and rooms are beautiful, with carved wood and traditional art. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is local, varied, and delicious. The location is central but because the hotel is on a small side street, it's quiet as well. Most of all, the staff are warm, welcoming, and professional. Our visit to Nepal coincided with the global escalation of Covid-19 which meant, unfortunately, that we had to return to Kathmandu and leave the country early. The hotel staff were our friends and support system for a couple of high-stress days, and throughout, they ensured we were safe, comfortable, well-fed, and supported.
We spent the first three nights of our two week trip here and it was just perfect. On a quiet side street in a good neighbourhood, it was close enough to the centre to get a cheap taxi to all the places we wanted to go, whilst being just out of the tourist bustle. The staff were professional, friendly and went the extra steps to make sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. I loved the art work and carvings in the foyer and restaurant area. The rooftop terrace gave us our first meal in Nepal and I didn't taste better Momos for the rest of our trip. Quiet, elegant, clean, spacious, friendly, lovely food and a great place to land in the country.
This is a really nice medium level Hotel. Charming interior and friendly staff. Just entering the lobby feels so peaceful after hectic Kathmandu! Food was good and a lot of amenities for a smaller Hotel. really like this place.
Good quiet location down pretty side street in safe business district. Beautiful characterful downstairs lobby and restaurant. Big room with heating, a rare , nay unique treat on our trip and a wonderful thing in their winter. For this alone I give you 5 stars. Average bathroom. Nice to have a kettle and rea bags in the room. Good breakfast. Excellent porter service. Not near any particular attractions, you’d need a taxi. Slightly faded grandeur but still comfortable. Nice bar, coffee shop, top floor terrace serving a decent dinner, everything we wanted for our overnight stay.
Had the worst experience with the rudest guard in the hotel. While we were parking in the hotel compound the hotel guard stood there watching us, just few feet away saying nothing. When we got out of our car after parking in the perfectly fine parking spot (which was not obstructing any vehicle or way) ,The Guard finally came to us and told us to move our car and park it somewhere else. We told him he could have just informed us in the process while we were parking as he was watching from just few feet away. To this the hotel guard aggressively refuted and yelled. He went on his confrontational manner as if trying to start a fight. The hotel management just casually shook of our complain about the incident.
