Hotel Yambu is one of the best hotel in Thamel because it has best room ,very clean, very nice restaurant, very nice roof top from where you can see whole Kathmandu valley. It is in best location central of Kathmandu City.Hotel has very best travel desk as well. Once you stay in Hotel Yambu, you will remember to comeback again.

The Hotel Yambu is a gem! My first visit to Kathmandu and with some research, feel I made a great selection. Small, clean, cozy rooms, a friendly, attentive team, and freshly prepared breakfast all include at a price that is very very fair!
The location - on the edge of the crowded interior of Thamel - makes it easy both to wander the district and move around the city.
Highly recommend.
(Note: there's an on-site construction project spring/summer 2024, Some noise during the day.)

I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Hotel Yambu. If you're looking for 5 star luxury, you need to look elsewhere. Hotel Yambu is great value for money if you're a budget traveler. If you're a woman traveling alone, I can recommend this hotel. The staff will give their shirts off their backs to make you happy and your stay comfortable. The owner is always on hand to make sure your needs are seen to and that you're happy with everything. I have returned to this hotel three times and will happily do so again. You enter as a guest, and leave as a friend. That's not something 5-star can buy!

It was lovely to return to Hotel Yambu in Thamel after two long years and find the place fresh and clean with the same friendly staff still there. Hotel Yambu is at the top end of Thamel next to a massive Bhodi tree inside off the main roads so is very quiet. They have now made an entry from one of the main streets of Thamel so it is easy to walk to from anywhere in Thamel. Taxis or cars can pull up at the main gate for ease of access. It looks like they have done a lot of work to keep it clean and fresh and the rooms were very comfortable with attached bathroom. The managers really make an effort to welcome you personally and there is a lovely eating area downstairs done out in traditional style with new prayer flags above the entrance. My room was very comfortable. It is worth a walk up to the roof level with spectacular views across Kathmandu valley and a view of the snow-capped peaks on a clear day. The prices are very reasonable, and it is possible to stay for just a night or for a longer time. They also provide airport pick up and drop which is handy. It’s a great location for sightseeing trips around the Kathmandu Valley.

Wanting a hotel in the midst of Thamel with out blowing the budget that offered a double bed and breakfast The Yambu Hotel fitted my requirements, Breakfast of yogurt and cornflakes with fruit (no milk) as the yogurt is so fresh and nice I wanted the texture combination and it has morphed into a minimum two bowls while I wait on my cooked breakfast of eggs on toast followed by a pancake with honey, enough fuel for the morning wonderings amongst the many merchants of Thamel. Special help from the staff is just an enquiry away, Raj the manager goes above and beyond for any traveller, as to showing and taking me to the magic of a locals best momo restaurant to the best tea shop, all walking distance from the hotel. Shower full on hot water pressure good towels and linen, I know other configuration of rooms is possible with trekkers, I found a gym close by as well. Combined with transport pick ups to and from the airport or arranging with contacts trips nothing was too much trouble, a return stay at the hotel will be a must for myself given the wifi never failed when communicating with home, and having an English newspaper to read was a bonus daily.

Very nice hotel, very hospitable hosts! Very delicious food like a buffet, with yogurtarmi, dry breakfasts, omelets, desserts, fruit and more! The hosts helped for planning buses to Pokhara and taxis to the right ones, and even suggested the best rates for exchange of funds! I recommend it!

We had the bad luck of getting sick on our trek and had to come back to Kathmandu early causing us to have an extended stay at Hotel Yambu. The hotel is ideally located in the top area of Thamel and the room we had was really good. Lots of hot water and being on the 5th floor, it had lots of natural light in the room (Rm 502). But it’s really the staff and that make the place special. Raj the manager will do anything he can to make your stay enjoyable and they have the best front desk man, Pawan. Truly a joy to be around and always so happy and helpful. Hardest working person you’ll ever meet and always such a sunny personality! Breakfast is included and is quite good, with great yoghurt, eggs, pancakes, etc… A coffee bar is also attached to the hotel and again, the staff there are so friendly and helpful. Raj arranged a car for us so we could get up to Nagarkot and it was a better price than in a travel agency. Enjoy your stay and give greetings to Pawan for me!

It is a nice place. Rooms were very clean. If you are a looking for a cheap and good accomodation, then Yambu is a good option, situated in Thamel, Kathmandu. Staff was very cooperative and humble towards their client. They have a small restuarant and you can have breakfast, tea and good food as well. They also have a seperate room for keeping luggage, they offered me to keep my extra luggage in the room before leaving for Kaislash. From Pakistan, I was treated very well.

From the moment we arrive, the stay at Hotel Yambu is a pleasure. The staff are friendly, attentive and always willing to help. The rooms are always clean and well presented. I always enjoy spending my spare time on the balcony (each floor has one). The food provided is cooked in house and is consistently delicious. We come back here year after year. Last time was in the midst of covid. Masks were being worn and sanitiser was available at the entrance but, as with anywhere, I'd also take/buy a personal supply.

Excellent hospitality. Specially manager is like a family members. ❤️❤️❤️My stay at Yambu was absolutely fantastic! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and well taken care of. The staff went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable—they were friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with a smile. The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully decorated, with a bed so comfortable I didn’t want to leave!
