This is a solid bet if you want a little quiet in the heart of bustling and bohemian Thamel. Nothing fancy and the power will surely go out every day (most small hotels will experience this, unless you are in a big name chain) from 10-6 no electric in rooms - so you have to give phones to front desk...

The hotel is really quiet. It's kinda little far from central Thamel but you can walk there in just 5 mins. Room is clean. Hot shower, Wifi, AC are also aviable. Near hotel has many restuarants. Staff are very peaceful. You will have breakfast on 6th floor with Kathmandu's view.

Really friendly staff. Rooms were clean enough. Beds were made every day and were of average comfort. Trash bins were emptied daily as well. The housekeepers were so lovely and came by every day to ask if I wanted my room cleaned and if I needed any toilet roll or a fresh towel. Strange shower set up though, the showerhead...

rooms are relatively small but clean and neat. feels cramped a bit but then nobody stays in the rooms except for rest and sleep if you are a visitor to kathmandu. ideally located right in the middle of any location within the tourist location of thamel.

Though we stayed here for only one night, it was nice enough to impress us. The staff were friendly and helpful and were always ready to greet us with big smiles. The room we had was small yet clean and cozy. The interior design and decoration was simple but with a touch of the traditional nepalese culture. Shower was hot...

I only stayed here two nights as a stop off between travelling elsewhere in Nepal. The hotel staff are lovely, very helpful and friendly and one even accompanied me to the Shivaratri Festival by his motorbike and took care of me whilst we jostled with the crowd there at no cost- something which I am very grateful for. The reason...

I had an extended stay in KTM so I had the chance to try a few different places... Until I found heritage home, it has the perfect balance of facilities and affordability. Great friendly staff, all with their own character and charm, such a joy to stay here it has become my base when in Nepal.

I have stayed in Heritage Home Hotel more than 5 times. It is my second home in Thamel. The location of the hotel is great. Room are bright and classic. After the renovation, the charm of the hotel is best. Breakfast and views from room top is great. I am really missing my beer on roof Top.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Newars, the indigenous inhabitants Valley, were renowned for their craftsmanship. It is they who built the numerous pagoda temples and shrines, stone sculptures, metalwork and lavish carvings that you see everywhere. Their workmanship was of such high perfection that the Kathmandu Valley today boasts of seven World Heritage Sites. The architecture of the Newar towns and villages is very appealing. Their red-brick houses have intricately carved wooden windows and doors and sloping tiled roofs. However, in the name of modernization, these beautiful houses and monuments are coming down fast and are being replaced by multi-storied concrete buildings. Here at Heritage Home hotel & guest house, we are committed to preserving and continuing those rich artistic traditions as well as the Valley's tradition of hospitality. ... more   less
