Not a very good choice everything average about it can't expect luxury. Not happy with the wasrooms. But staff is good. Food is also satisfactory. Location is good. You can stay there if you are on a budget.
We was there for a few days to spend our time . which is really nice room view with best facility with super tested food which is I never got other places . we are really love to our stayed in that's hotel. we are really enjoyed with nice staff who are professional and with health protocol.we feel really safety and really cleaning garden with quiet place .
By far the nicest hotel in Thamel - a really nice large private courtyard and covered outdoor eating. We have stayed at several KGH hotels (Maya Manor, one in Pokhera and on in Chitwan) and they are all fantastic. This original in Thamel is no exception - Great staff, really nice rooms and a fantastic atmosphere. Guarded and fenced facility with a great buffet breakfast and on site shops and services. Western and Nepali food is served and all staff speak english. I highly recommend you pay the additional few dollars per night for this experience in Kathmandu. SUPER CLEAN !!
All of the staff at the Kathmandu Guest House were remarkable from reception to the Garden Cafe Restaurant and Housekeeping Services. This group is outstanding and certainly a tribute to the KGH itself. The location of the KGH is fortunately in the centre of Thamel, Kathmandu with its amazing street markets. There was one especially noteworthy staff member in the front office, Relove Gyawali by name, whose experience beyond his young age and his pleasant demeanour allowed him to quietly and effectively help us navigate the challenges of the COVID-19 situation. He went well beyond his professional obligation, and for this we are truly thankful. He has planned a career in hospitality and our prediction is that he will do very well. He, like this unique hotel, is exceptional! Dorothy, Ted and Rob…
Situated in the middle of Thamel area, handy for all the shops and restaurants. Comfortable room with a great shower - bliss to get rid of the dust at the end of the day! The garden was very nice but noisy during the day due to all the surrounding building works. Quiet at night though. Breakfast buffet was good and although there was a day menu, there were limited places to sit. Either outside (noisy in the day and cool in the evening) or the breakfast room which was a little plain. Better to eat out! Staff were all very friendly and helpful.
