Hotel's Favorite
Excellent location to visit Kathmandu. The hotel is supposed to be a 5 star hotel but it needs a lot of refurbishing. However, it has so many positive aspects apart from its location. The staff is friendly. Heritage rooms are nicely decorated in Nepali style The room is very comfortable, specially with space to put all your luggage. Highly recommended to ask for a garden view. Breakfast was really excellent. Great variety and you could ask for different options that they would cook for you. Great opportunity to taste local and Indian food as well. Bathroom amenities included even toothbrush and toothpaste apart from the usual. We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed here 4 nights as part of a 3 week trip to India and Nepal It was truly lovely. They have captured the soul of Nepalese style woodworking , but provide all of the modern amenities that travelers want. The rooms are not particularly noteworthy, but the bed was very comfy and the bath was modern and nice. The buffet breakfast was very nice each AM --a combination of traditional and western tastes. The BEST part of this place is the garden in back. There is so little beauty for the tired traveler's soul in Kathmandu --that one is just drawn to this lovely oasis. Beautiful lawn and flowers with a little Buddha temple up the hill. While we enjoyed our very overpriced gin and tonics in the garden ($14 US each) we were fortunate to watch about 10 local Buddhist monks wander into and around the gardens. Obviously creating a photo shoot mania among the tourists in the gardens (see photos) , but it was enjoyable to watch them enjoy themselves with selfies and group photos.
