My husband and some friends we met travelling went to Garden House every day for lunch. They make the best dal bhat at the best price and the owners are lovely and accommodating. There is a garden to relax in as well as a nice rooftop.
Nice and quiet hotel with beautiful garden and rooftop terrace. Very friendly an helpful staff. Really good food. We were staying at the Kathmandu Garden house during the first days of the Corona-Lockdown. Couldn‘ t have picked better…!
We stayed at this guesthouse on our first 2 days in Kathmandu. The place is nice, it has a nice garden and the location is excellent: you are in Thamel without being in the centre of the touristic chaos. The rooms are nice and clean. One thing to notice: no heating! If you go there in winter, you will probably be a bit cold. But we survived! Perfect location also for bus stops to Pokhara and other places.
Clean room and good location close to main Thamel streets. Large social area but very quiet as not many staying. WiFi good. Shower good. Nice garden setting to chill and read. Had a power cut first night (common across Kathmandu) and the staff were very kind and provided us with candles. Would stay again.
Conveniently located, with a generous breakfast, the main desk manager communicates effortlessly with all guests. Their responsiveness to feedback is indicated in rearranging my room from my last visit, to provide more natural light. While being on the edge of all the action, the garden atmosphere is private and secluded, providing a wonderful chance to catch some sun on a warm winter's afternoon.
