Great hotel to stay at with friends and Family. The staff was amazing, very nice and friendly. We got a chance to meet the owner and he was very kind and helpful as well. Very clean rooms, breakfast was included. The food was also very good. I will definitely come back and would recommend to all my friends.

I've traveled to Nepal in 2017, 2018, and 2019 and had the wonderful opportunity to stay at Thamel Eco Resort before and after the adventures I had went on with Active Adventures and Active Hearts Foundation. The staff is very welcoming, receptionists are exceptional, the rooms are well maintained and clean, and food is PERFECT! Thamel Eco had underwent a few upgrades over recent years to include the beautiful garden, renovations to the buildings in and out, and the Yeti bar! While the streets can be busy and full of excitement, this hotel is tucked away close enough to the action but far enough so you can have a decent nights rest and quiet time to yourself or with friends. Just watch out for the occasional monkey visitors! Thamel Eco is my second home, and I love everyone there! I will return in 2021!!!! (Can't make it this year because of covid).

Following a trip involving Manaslu Circuit Trek and Tsum Valley, we sought refuge at Thamel Eco Resort as Nepal went into lockdown, due to the global pandemic. The airport had closed down three days prior and we waited on information like many other travelers scattered throughout the country. Although Kathmandu was in complete lockdown, inside the grounds of our hotel, there was a serene sense of calmness. Our hosts, lead by the manager, Bijay, went above and beyond in welcoming us and in looking after us throughout our extended stay. The staff at the hotel delivered exceptional service, especially under the circumstances. While we spent a considerable amount of time in the courtyard surrounded by flowers and plants, a gardener would spend a few hours every day caring for his surroundings. It was so reflective of the overall environment. My next trip to Nepal will include a visit back. The hotel, the manager, the staff and the constant gardener made such a difference to our extended stay. We won't forget their welcome and genuine hospitality.
