The ambassador garden hotel is a very nice local hotel in Thamel, Kathmandu. The location is spectacular! It is located in the middle of Thamel. You can walk to many shops, restaurants, clubs. And bars in the area. It is extremely nice for the price! Bicky and all of the staff were extremely nice and courteous to me. I am a 23 year old solo traveler from the United States. I spent 5 nights with them total. The room was excellent. There was hot water with a nice shower. Bicky was extremely professional and extremely nice throughout my entire stay. He gave me many tips an guidance for roaming Thamel. We had tea many times throughout the day and I am very lucky to have stayed at this location with such professional staff. I plan on coming back again and I would highly reccommend this location over any commercial location such as Marriott or Hilton. (Bicky is a receptionist that shows the utmost professionalism at the hotel).

The Ambassador Garden Home in the centre of Thamel is a friendly and charming base for exploring Kathmandu. The staff are attentive, friendly, and quick to help. The hot water works well and the rooms are comfortable with traditional Newari touches. Breakfast in the pleasant garden courtyard is a highlight, with freshly squeezed juice and good coffee.

Great spacious rooms, delicious complimentary breakfast that can cater for all dietary conditions, served next to a beautiful natural garden. Room service is great, showers are hot and customer service is very friendly. Definitely recommend!

I stayed here 10 years ago and rated AGH 5 stars but this time was disappointed to see how run down it is. I chose a super deluxe room but there were so many issues - loose fitting electrical sockets where my charger kept falling out, bedside lamp switch sparking and fizzing when touched, lose tap fittings not properly attached to the wall or porcelain and wobbling around, shower head not able to be fixed to wall and having to be hand-held, a/c remote not responsive… when I told reception they said they’d fix the problems but I was only staying one night so no use to me. They also said they’re about to knock down the building and build a new one, so I can’t see them bothering to make repairs . It’s a shame as it has so much character and charm, the staff are friendly and helpful and breakfast was good. Maybe I was just unlucky in which case avoid room 304!

The Hotel Ambassador Garden Home is wonderful in every way. I great location in Kathmandu with a beautiful lobby, reception area, rooms, dining room and -my favorite place-the outdoor terrace dining area. I am particularly impressed with the well informed, helpful, attentive and genuinely friendly staff. I stayed 4 days and by the end the front desk, bell staff and restaurant staff knew my name and would greet me every day. The complimentary breakfast is delicious station and the evening menu and service are excellent as well. I highly highly recommend this hotel and found the rooms to be very quaint and well appointed and would stay here again.

Stayed here for 8 days during my business trip. Hotel is in heart of City and is an amazing location, you could enjoy night life which are at walking distance. Vikas helped me plan everything and also helped me to get my Covid test done by taking on his own scooter. Divas was already helpful. They serve good food which you could order, their Pizza is something you should surely try. They serve breakfast which includes eggs and messed potatoes, Nepali masala tea and bread -they specially made parathas for few days. Rooms are clean and didn't have anything to complain..
All in all a very good stay and would recommend staying at this boutique hotel

I have stayed at the Ambassador Garden Hotel about 4 or 5 times now over the past 10 years. The Pandemic has not been kind to many establishments in Kathmandu, and Ambassador Garden is no exception. I was one of the few guests during my brief stay. However, the pandemic has not reduced the old world charm of the hotel. It is absolutely central to Thamel, but set back 20-30 metres from the main street, once in your room it could be in the countryside. It is extremely quiet and peaceful. The garden, in which breakfast is taken, is still charming, despite some obvious difficulties from the pandemic And the breakfast is still one of the best of any hotel I have stayed in, in Kathmandu. Recommended.

Fantastic location in the heart of Thamel. This is my go to hotel in Kathmandu to wind down after trekking the mountains. Staff is friendly and helpful without being pushy, rooms are stylish and clean. The hotel restaurant serves good meals at very reasonable prices, and the included breakfast is good. Will stay here again on my next trip to Nepal.

We loved our stay at the Ambassador Garden Home. The staff were so kind and friendly. The manager Bicky put together everything we needed for our trek from Jiri to EBC from Jeep transportation from Kathmandu to our porter guide and porter and flights from Lukla back to Kathmandu. He made everything so easy for us. He picked us up at the airport and brought us back to the hotel which was like returning home after our long trek. We enthusiastically recommend the Ambassador Garden Home and recommend Bicky for organizing your trek.

Phenomenal service from the staff here, Bicky especially would help me with any questions/queries I had! The breakfast here is very generous, they make sure you are prepared for your day ahead. My room was much larger than I was expecting and had a very comfortable bed - working heating/AC, quick wifi and a hot shower! Nothing to complain about really I was very comfortable and made to feel welcome in all parts of of the hotel.
I also used the touring service to take a day trip around the city and I would highly recommend doing the same also! By far this was my favourite of my 3 days in Kathmandu so far, my guide was very helpful at answering any questions I had and at every leg of the tour he would say - take as much time as you like, there is no rush.
Thamel is a bustling, noisy part of the city but as soon as I got into the hotel I just felt comfortable and relaxed, the staff really do everything they can to make you happy. It’s a family run business and they like to treat you like family yourself.
I’m going trekking to EBC for a couple weeks but when I return to Kathmandu I’ve booked myself back into Ambassador Garden Home as I have enjoyed my stay here so far has been so good. :)
