Stayed both before and after our trek. The owner was very helpful and took our booking in advance and organised a car to pick up up at the airport because of our very late arrival in Nepal. Both of the rooms we used were fine, the place is a little old, but it's cheap and friendly. Everything worked fine, there...

We spent 3 nights in the hotel. The double bedroom is comfortable and there is hot water. The staff is very nice and the breakfast is good. However if you don't like noise don't come here because unfortunately two clubs are on the other side of the street and one bar is downstairs. So from 4 pm the music starts...

Affordable, great location in Thamel, great food, clean rooms, and wonderful people! Rishi and his staff at Hotel Potala are the most friendly, accommodating and professional people that we've met in a long time. This was one of the best experiences we've had staying at any hotel worldwide! Absolutely the best in Kathmandu!

Potala Hotel is a budget option right in the centre of Thamel. My husband and I stayed in the deluxe room which means in suite bathroom and hot shower, a nice double bed and a TV. It's a family business with a cute terrace restaurant. It's modest, and affordable, they offer laundry service, tours, advice and basically everything you need....

Located right in the heart of thamel, with free airport transport, affordable (and clean) rooms and amazing staff, hotel potala was great. Staff were very friendly, always up for a chat and repeatedly empahised to let them know if we needed anything. I would really reccomend visiting, but it may be a good idea to bring ear plugs if you...

This accommodation was organised by my guide and was fine. Shared a room with another trekker which worked out well. Rooms cost but workable. It is well located in Thamel - an easy walk to many eating places. One downside is the restaurant is woefully slow. It offers an ok coffee but you need to be patient (15 minute waits...

budget in price, but cleanliness and hospitality of owners says otherwise. Double/ triple ensuite rooms represent the best value. Ensure you get a room on the eastern side of the building otherwise Purple Haze (rock bar next door) will keep you awake until 0000. Lovely roof top with views extending to Swayambhunath.

You can't help but fall in love with this place and with everyone in this hotel. I'd like to share my personal experience, i got sick while staying there...
