This is an excellent hotel! The staff and the cleanliness are excellent.
The hotel is located in Thamel, which is the "touristy" part of Kathmandu. Kathmandu in itself has got an air quality and dust problem. If you are used to normal air in your home, be aware that it will take some time to adjust to the poor air quality in Kathmandu. The reason why I am mentioning this is that the hotel air is filtered, so it certainly feels like a super nice retreat away from the hustle and bustle but it is still very much located centrally in Thamel.
The staff is super friendly and they really want to make you feel welcome and they are trying the utmost best to make your stay excellent. The quality of the food in the hotel itself is super nice as well, but there is quite a lot of super nice restaurants nearby as an alternative.
The rooftop bar has got amazing views and a very clean pool which is not heated, so can only be used in the summer months when it is warm enough.
The rooms are getting cleaned twice a day and a super clean and always well maintained. There is enough plug sockets for most types of plugs, because Nepal does not seem to have a plug standard. The bathroom is also very clean and the water pressure is very good.
Please keep in mind that the water is not drinking water, so I would brush my teeth with bottled water.
The hotel also has a backup generator for the power cuts in Nepal, as their power grid is not sufficient for peak demands. At least twice a day there is a major power cut happening, but after about 10 seconds the generator kicks in.
The wage difference between Nepal and Western countries is quite immense, so the staff like the porter boy are kind of expecting a tip, and I cannot blame them. A usual good value is 20-50 Rupees. Make sure to take out cash at the airport, so the pickup driver can get his tip too.

I have never before reveiwed in trip advisor but this time I would like to say something good about this beautiful hotel and the friendly and helpful staff. We stayed at Hotel Mulberry for 4 days. Our airport pick up was very well organized.Upon arrival at Hotel we were warmly welcomed by the doorman with a beautiful smile on his face. We got the rooms very quickly.Though rooms were on First floor it was clean and comfortable.Buffet Break fast was also great. During departure day following discussion with Front Office Manager, Mr. Niraj we get an late check out facility without any extra charges. He was so helpful in making arrangements for our sight seeing tours .Every other day he used to meet us and asked about our stay, if he can do anything to make our
stay a memorable one. Really impressed. Reception staff was always ready to help you out. we enjoyed our stay.Thank you all and especially Niraj.

Staff is top class, breakfast was delicious, rooftop pool/bar is great and gives you a good vantage point on Kathmandu. The only point of feedback was that their taxi service was a bit pricey compared to what you can get on your own, but then you get the piece of mind of being able to call them if anything goes wrong.
Central to convenient things like money center, Thamel attractions etc...This was one of three "4-star" hotels we stayed at while here, and it was definitely the best one.

A bit disappointing for the price we paid ($110 USD/night). The hotel is located in the Thamel area, a tourist hot spot. It is slightly off track hence you feel away from the hustle bustle.
The hotel itself was quiet, may be because we were staying off season.
All the staff were very friendly and accommodating and no complaints there.
However, our room felt tired and did not feel as clean as it could be, same with the communal areas.
Breakfast buffet was fairly standard, and was a bit of a let-down.
The views from the pool and pool bar are fantastic, however the outdoor pool was unusable as it was cold and the water appeared milky.
The gym is very limited and there is charge to use the sauna and steam rooms.
There is also an additional $30 USD/night charge for an extra bed.
We chose this hotel because of the pool and gym, and that was why we were willing to pay extra, so were naturally disappointed.
We had family members who stayed at another hotel about 15 mis walk away and that was much better value for money.

Excellent hotel. The décor is modern and cozy; the rooms are comfortable and spacious. I stayed in two different rooms, before and after my trip to another city, and both were pretty and clean. There is a bar at the top with a great view, where you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, a drink and delicious snacks; you should not miss it. Breakfast is very complete and meals very nice. Polite and diligent staff. I would definitely go back.

Namaste! This was my first stay at the Mulberry hotel, and it will not be my last. I was very impressed with several things. The hotel is very well run, and even though it is very conveniently located in Thamel which can be noisy and busy, the hotel provides the guest a peaceful stay and much comfort. The rooms are well maintained and well kept. The Infinity pool on the top floor is exquisite and provides a beautiful panoramic view of the city. I stayed at the Mulberry hotel a total of 10 days and I often just enjoyed relaxing in my room or going upstairs to the bar area for refreshments. The breakfast buffet served to guests offered a nice variety of western and Nepalese food. I also enjoyed dining in the restaurant and at times also enjoyed the very efficient room service offered. I will assuredly stay again at the Mulberry hotel on my next visit to Nepal to enjoy more fine hospitality the hotel offers. Lastly, hotel staff are very efficient and polite and make you feel welcome throughout your stay. I would like to extend my special thanks to Rubina at reception for her help with inquiries I had and very efficient manner in which she fulfilled her duties.

I arrived in Nepal and was late leaving the airport unfortunately without my checked luggage which was lost by the airline. The Hotel Mulberry shuttle driver had waited patiently for my arrival which was two hours late!
I was welcomed into the hotel which had amazing friendly staff, great food and comfortable rooms/amenities.
The manager found out my luggage was lost and took down my information contacting the airline repeatedly until they tracked down my luggage and confirmed when it would be arriving. He provided a shuttle back to the airport for me and my guide, came with us to the airport to ensure I received my luggage without concern and gave me and my guide Basu with Nepal Eco Adventure a ride to the bus as we were late leaving for the 15 day Annapurna Circuit Trek.
I have never in my experience had someone go so over and above as the management and staff at the Hotel Mulberry.
Upon return, the lounging roof top pool, bar, food and amenities were most appreciated after trekking for 15 days!
I would give them 5 Stars plus!!

We were a group of 13 adults on a trip to Kathmandu to visit Pashupatinath Temple and other places. I am fortunate that I came in touch with Mr Niraj Bhatta -Front Office Manager at Mulberry. Right from day one since I made contact with Niraj he was in constant touch with me over WhatsApp , for every small clarification he would immediately respond and make me feel comfortable about the trip. His hospitality is unparalleled. He ensures that all his guests are taking care in the best possible way and make them feel at home. I must mention here also that other hotel staff was also cooperative and attentive to take care of their guests. During this visit one of our family member got sick because of stomach upset. Mr Niraj was so much concerned about his health and provided all support required. On the whole we all had an amazing experience staying at Hotel Mulberry and would strongly recommend others to experience the same. The location is perfect (Thamel) where you can go around busy market nearby and do lot of shopping. The rooms are clean and maintained with hygiene. Food served in hotel is yummy. Dont forget to have fun on Infinity Pool side. On the scale of 10 Hotel Mulberry stands at 9.
So next time when you plan to visit Kathmandu just head on straight to Mulberry and get in touch with Mr Niraj who will make your stay comfortable and exciting. GOD Bless!

The Hotel Mulberry was the perfect experience! It was right in the thick of the shopping and dining areas, but it was hidden off at the end of the street with a brick circular driveway. It felt very safe, it also had security guards and hotel shuttles. The rooftop infinity pool was great and very relaxing. There's also a great bar and spa on the rooftop. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and quiet and the staff was very accommodating.
The restaurant was great and the buffet breakfast was sumptuous.
One of the highlights of my trip was one particular Hotel Mulberry employee, Deeya Don (Diya). Deeya is top-shelf as far as hospitality goes. She was very friendly and accommodating and went out of her way to make sure that everything we had was perfect. She's very compassionate and knowledgeable. I feel like I made a lifelong friend in just a few days! I know she'll have a great career in the hospitality industry.
I only have wonderful things to say about the hotel; I only wish that we could have stayed a few more days!
