Shivapuri Heights cottage at the hillside of Kathmandu valley away from the hustle and bustle. A perfect place to relax, do yoga and walk. A beautiful garden with trees, flowers an a lot of veggies and salad ++ eating together and learning from each other. Thank you Neeru, Steve, Ramita, JB and the whole staff. Thank you for making us so comfortable and relaxed. We had a walk one day with packed lunch and a great guide. Miss you all!

I wanted to go somewhere with my boyfriend to celebrate my birthday. I didn't want to travel too far but close to the nature. He found this little gem recommended by his friends. Once we got there I couldn't believe that the cottage is near Kathmandu, far enough to enjoy nature and quiet. Shivapuri Heights Cottage is a luxurious holiday home on the mountain slope above KTM city. A peaceful and relaxed atmosphere with spectacular city view. We would definitely recommend this cottage home to everyone, specially who doesn’t want to be in the busiest part of town and enjoys the nature. Yes, it is a 15 minute drive from downtown and a 10 minute walk up the hill to the cottage. Clean rooms, clean bathrooms, bookshelf and everything in perfect working order. Not to forget the lovely hot tube and spa. They surprised me with their delicious home made birthday cake :-) The kitchen is extremely well equipped and a wonderful place to sit together and have a meal around the large table. One of the best run and friendliest cottage home I have ever stayed. This will definitely go down as one of my favourite places to visit and I am sure that we will return. Best regards to Steve and Niru, the owners 🙏🙏

We have been to Shivapuri several times over the last year, it's a great getaway from the city. The views are fantastic, it's much quieter, the property is lovely and it has so much charm. The food is phenomenal and the staff are so friendly and kind. We always return to Kathmandu feeling refreshed. Be aware that the road system into the hills is dicey, sometimes you might have to hike up a good 20 minutes if some part of the roads have been washed out, and always will have at least a 10 minute relatively steep walk up stairs. It's worth it, if you are able to do it!

A really wonderful two day stay which I wish could have been longer. We were there on my birthday and I had the most perfect relaxing day, starting with the best breakfast we'd had in our two week trip to Nepal. Followed by one of the best massages I've ever had, a delicious lunch on the terrace outside our room, a jacuzzi at sunset overlooking the Kathmandu city valley, then the most delicious dinner shared with the other guests. Simply superb. My partner and I decided to end our two week trip to Nepal here as it was a great location to get into Kathmandu if there was anything we felt we'd missed at the beginning of our trip, but we loved it at the Cottages so much we just spent the two days there. A walk to the local monastery and some of the most stunning religious paintings I've seen, filled the first day beautifully. The owners Steve and Neeru were consummate hosts, and Ramita the hostess of the cottages was simply brilliant. The whole team worked so well together, were incredibly helpful, the food was delicious and different each night and we were looked after brilliantly. I loved the relaxed atmosphere, homely sense of the cottage, eating with the other guests, having a cottage to ourselves. There were so many things to see and do in the Shivapuri area I'd love to come back to do more of the walks, take one of the guided days into the nature reserve and spend more time relaxing in the jacuzzi. As we'd been trekking I was a little worried about getting up to the cottages with my pack, however they offered to send someone to meet our taxi and carry our bags! This was such a wonderful service and reflective of just how the team was set up to enable us to enjoy our stay to the max. Oh and they gave us hotwater bottles each night! Such a welcoming, caring touch. I was so busy relaxing and enjoying myself that I forgot to take as many photos! Watching birds from the bar, walking along the paths amongst the beautifully tended gardens and vegetables, playing Tigers and Goats at the little table outside our cottage overlooking Kathmandu, chatting over dinner to Neeru and Steve, laughing with Ramita, enjoying JBs food. It was all very special and warm and a true treat to stay here. I loved this place and it is one of the highlights of my whole trip.
