The high points were good breakfast and dinner (there were few guests so we were served at the table) and attentive staff. The staff was very helpful, almost overly so, as they stood nearby while we had our meals. Our room was very large, we were there in December and the room heaters had a little trouble keeping up but the room eventually warmed up though bathroom was cold. Common areas were cold and we appreciated space heaters provided in dining room. The interior design of hotel is very stark/bleak/cavernous and not very comfortable/cosy. We had read that hot water was limited so we kept our showers very brief and it worked out okay.

Stayed at peaceful resort for 2 nights. The staff were courteous and friendly. The room was spacious, clean, warm with good Wi-Fi a cable TV and basic amenities provided. The bathroom is cold as there isn't heating inside, therefore have to dry and get dress quickly after a shower. The shower is nice and hot but there is only 100 liters, so if one person is taking a long shower and use up most of the water, the next person will need wait around 25 minutes for the water to refill and boil to have enough hot water. The dinner and breakfast are okay, breakfast is buffet style while dinner was served at the table. The location of the hotel is not convenient if you wish to head out to town for a little wandering as it is on a hill. It takes about 5-10 mins drive to town down a windy

Peaceful Resort is a peaceful place to stay, though we were there for just 2 nights, but we felt at home. We will recommend anyone who visit Thimphu can book this place for their stay. The dining room staff was very courteous. Buffet breakfast and buffet dinner were good and they catered according to the nationality of their guests.

A stay at Peaceful Resort turned out to be the best decision during my travel in Bhutan. Earlier, I had scrutinised around 20-30 hotels/resorts for my stay at Thimpu, however someone from the locals suggested, to give Peaceful resort a go. I went ahead without seeing any picture and did not read a single on the resort. Located around 2-4 kms away from the main market area, this resort is tucked away in quite a serene location. We arrived at night when I could not see the design of the resort and its surroundings. However, as soon we arrived I could feel the warmth of a family at the reception. The entry is so rosy, there are books on one corner, seating arrangements on another side, Lord Buddha’s idol in front and bukhari in between. A traditional heating area. We were offered a

Though the hotel is away from the city, the Rooms were very comfortable and the staff was very helpful. We were all vegetarians and the breakfast and dinner were specially made as per our choice. The taste and quality was very nice.

First thing first – Don’t judge just by name! This place is far away from Thimphu city and located between a residential area. There is nothing to do around the resort and inside the resort also so once you are here you are stuck inside the room, room with no view. The rooms are really big with full wooden floorings. The dining room requires you to place the order well in advance say by 4 pm for dinner. Post dinner you can’t get anything to eat, we asked in the evening if we can get some snacks even that was not available, maybe coz we traveled in offseason. They don’t have a bar, so better get your stock with you. The food is good and the quantity is also sufficient. Breakfast spread was decent and full of verity, kind of mix of Indian and Bhutanese.

The tour operator had booked us here because other places were full. It looks fine in pictures/photos but it is anything but peaceful. Rooms are dirty, wall paints are peeling off, water stagnates in the bathroom. Anything you ask the staff, they smile sweetly and shake their heads. Anything. Even a basic first aid kit they dont have. They have never heard of an iron box even. Very poor maintenance. Poor management. Breakfast timing is from 7-9 as per their 'General instructions' stuck on the room doors. They start only by 8:15-8:30 and dont even wait till all their guests have eaten. They dont have a good cook. The food was terrible. Tea was the saving grace which earned them one star. I had a horrible time there. I dont recommend it.
