Bhutan as a country is a visitors delight with rolling hills, magnificent landscapes, hospitable people, scrumptious food and grounded in tradition. The Taj Tashi at Thimpu only helps to magnify the overall Bhutanese hospitality. The Taj is located in the centre of Thimpu, The service is above par and each and every staff that we interacted with, went out of their way to accede to our requests and ensure that we have a great holiday. The suites are large and well laid out. The Bhutanese restaurant is a gastronomic delight with a wide variety of food from all regions of the country. The arrangements in terms of pick up, drops and guided tours to Thimpu and Paro were all well coordinated. Bhutan is a great place to unwind, relax and go back to basics and the Taj Tashi admirably maginifies the happiness quotient!

The Staff at the Front desk Sangay ,Gaylay, Tenzin, Dechen were outstanding . The staff at the Restaurant made us feel at home and the Chef (Mr Patel) made available food which was not even in the Menu . The Housekeeping Staff were also very courteous . Even our Guide arranged by the Hotel Tshechu Dorji was amazing So would Give a perfect 10/10 rating . A definite place to recommend . Thank You

We stayed in their luxury suite at the 4th floor, which was fabulous with mesmerising views of largest budda and the surrounding mountains. Each one of the hotel staff was very caring and helpful. The Chef deserves a special mention, that he prepared and served whatever special dishes we asked for without any hesitation. Overall we had an excellent stay at Taj Tashi.

The whole experience came off to a great start where they welcome you and take care of you like their own . Day one was fabulous , the food was great exceeded all our expectations. Moving on to day 2 ( maybe the guest load was high) the quality of food started dropping, the dosa was burnt , fruits were smelly . The chef promised us different dinner but since there were unexpected guests they made us wait for 2 hours and just gave us make shift dinner !
All in all the staff is amazing and super friendly made us feel like home but it just deteriorated from day 1 to day 3. Hope this feedback is taken in a constructive manner and all guests are treated like how they are on day 1 then maybe the prices are worth selling your kidney 😂

They say the people make the place...in this instance it is so true .

From the moment we entered the property the ease of checking in and the warm friendly nature of the reception staff made up for the cold wind blowing outside. Gaylay especially was most helpful to my partner in creating a magical birthday experience for me.

It's a beautiful property with the architecture signature to the Bhuatnese culture. The rooms are fantastic and warm. Try and book the room with a balcony.

The food is fantastic and we had the Bhutanese taster which was outstanding. Chef Hushimoi Patel was most accommodating.

The cherry on the cake is the GM of this property Moncrief Aviet. He was most helpful in guiding us to see the right places in Thimpu and helped us settle in by giving us important information required to acclamatise onself . It was an absolute pleasure interacting with him and gathering all the required information to have a holistic culturally uplifting experience of Bhutan.

All in all completely refreshed and ready to face the hustle bustle of Mumbai. I leave with some beautiful memories.

We stayed at Pemako in Thimphu, Bhutan during our visit in March 2024 and it was an absolutely beautiful experience. The property is stunning and the hospitality is so warm and rooted in tradition and warmth. Our stay for the entire duration was extremely comfortable and amazingly looked after by a warm and friendly team. I would like to give a shoutout to Hana, who very graciously welcomed us and made sure everything was comfortable and we were well acquainted with the hotel. She also made sure and checked in for us to have the opportunity to wear the traditional Bhutanese dress and we were very touched with her thoughtfulness. I would also like to give a shoutout to Sonam who was extremely warm and took amazing care of us during our meals at the restaurant. Thank you Pemako for giving us a wonderful experience and we are already planning our round two trip, courtesy the amazing hospitality!

If you want to be pampered and treated like a king, and queen, Taj Tashi Hotel in Thimphu is the place to stay. The traditional Bhutanese design and surrounding garden grounds are a quiet sanctuary. What makes this hotel par- excellence is the staff, everyone goes out of their way to get to know you, to check on how you are doing, to offer opportunities to explore more of their culture. On our first night, we were able to dress in traditional Bhutanese garb, attend a beautiful dance performance, and participate, then have dinner. Their strength is focusing on the smallest details. They noticed it was my husband’s birthday while we were staying here and surprised him with a decorated room and birthday cake. We were able to use the spa, the hot rock bath is unique to Bhutan and offered a wonderful respite from all of the hiking. Every member of the staff from the front door greeter to the restaurants, to the front desk, to housekeeping are fantastic, if only we had this much grace and care where we live. Tika Ram, the duty manager was leading the charge and is a fantastic man, he was on top of everything.

Our stay at the Pemako Thimpu was wonderful in every way. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location to explore the city, the food (both breakfast and dinner) was delicious, and we really appreciated the attentiveness and friendliness of the entire staff. We also enjoyed the cultural show they put on which showcased traditional Bhutanese music and dance accompanied by some snacks. Special shoutout to Pema Zangmo, Tshering Pem, Padma, and Santosh in the front office and the entire food and beverage team who even accommodated a last minute request for a traditional Bhutanese meal. I would highly recommend staying here for anyone visiting Thimpu.

Amazing People
Good Property

Mr. Tik Ram, front office manager, welcomed us warmly, he made us feel comfortable.
Mr. Vishal, head of engineering, made sure that our rooms are warm enough as it was too cold for us.
F&B Manager Karan and Chief Chef Surender were pampering us with amazing food, they even gave us Marathi Sweet on our Marathi Festival Gudi Padwa. Which was a surprise for us !
Housekeeping staff was so kind, as I was travelling with kids, there was too much mess, but housekeeping staff helped us warmly.

Only complaint is that their swimming pool and jacuzzi both are not operational.

Over all amazing experiences

Considering the feedback that our other valued guests have written down here, I would urge you to stay with us and develop an opinion of your own as well..... Warmly, Melvyn Saldanha General Manager
