I came here after a late evening flight arrival. Lovely night and a wonderful quiet idyllic wakeup. Sat outside my lodge having a cup of tea. Magic. Breakfast was adequate, but no chance to ask for some more toast!! The staff were lovely and friendly. The only down side was a group on safari with a loud, outspoken member. Pioneer...

Wish I could return already, and I've not been back a week. Loved chilling in the main area, meeting fellow travelers and sharing a meal with them. The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable. It's such an oasis on the outskirts of Lusaka. Can't wait to return.

Very convenient to the airport. Your privacy is respected and the peace and charm of the place leave you quite restored and centered. Safari Chalets are basic but comfortable. You'll need a fan during the hot, dry season.

We stayed one night at the beginning of our holiday in Zambia. The camp is on the outskirts of Lusaka and handy for the airport. The accommodation is lovely with individual chalets decorated with an African feel. The staff were lovely and friendly, food great and the bar a great place to chat to other travellers and exchange experiences. The...

We have now spent four wonderful holidays in Zambia and always base our trips around Pioneer, which is a true home from home with excellent service, comfortable chalets and friendly, helpful hosts and staff. Each visit gets better. Paul, the owner always organises our safaris for us and Pioneer is an ideal base for our travels. We can not recommend...

We stayed three nights in two different chalets, and both stays were great. Pioneer camp is about 20 minutes out of Lusaka, on a quiet plot. The chalets were large and well furnished. The bed in our first chalet, # 14 I think, was soft and comfortable: but the one in the second chalet was hard and lumpy. You may...

Despite arrival via rugged road trip, we all appreciated the airport transfer, warm greetings, friendly staff, lovely accommodation with quirky shower-bathtub and great meals. Only complaint is that we didn't stay here on our return to Lusaka before flying home.

I traveled with a group of American high school students, and Pioneer Camp was our base of operations while in Lusaka. We rented the cottage and several chalets. We also used Pioneer to run a mobile safari for us. Pioneer feels like a home away from home. The staff who run it are friendly and competent. The food is good,...

My stay at pioneer camp was really great. It was a camp but with all the benefits and felt like a lodge. I would recommend this place to absolutely everyone! Best campsite I have been at thus far. This is a must see
