Colonial was the decor, the evening was candle light and lovely. The food was large portions but the team work - amazing. In between nature worked her charm, It was lightning , thunder and it poured and poured and team there was ready . someone wanted me to try the local gin again - yes she did get wet. Bar is open and away Great night and team spirit of service which needs to be lauded. Thank you for showing us the customer comes first and what hospitality is all about in Uganda.
First time visit to Uganda was a wholesome experience. They call it pearl of Africa and for sure it is. Stayed for CPC meeting in Munyonyo and for my last two nights I took a tour in Kampala.Made and easy reservation through booking dot com and I got weekend special rate. To my surprise the hotel has a charming old colonial house feel but with a blend of modernity. Hidden inside upmarket areas of the city as they say, but it was convenient for me to tour around walking. Ivan our driver was very handful for the city tours. The hotel to my standards is a five star city hotel but a niche five star boutique hotel. I stayed in room 24,it had wonderful views of the swimming pool and gardens. The food is awesome the service is worth as I had expected, a homely feel. Wines quite pricy compared to Europe.you may want to check on the rates maybe it was a high season for them. All the staff a friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed my stay. …
Thought I would give them a try again after a year, once again got year having booked and preconfirmed a garden room, room wasn’t available and I was put in another type room with 0 apology but promised to move me the next day just to be shown the exact same type room the next day. Still no garden room. I have requested to talk to GM, 24 hours later still no sight of him. Disgusting blood stains on my duvet and dirty marks on my pillows, probably sleeping on same bedding as prior guests. Still no word from management. This was the last try, definitely won’t be coming back!
Overall we had a nice stay here. We had a very early check in/check out and they were very accommodating. The hotel felt a bit old and out dated in general. The room was clean and spacious with comfortable bed. The shower was in a bath tub and a little difficult. The grounds were quite lovely - it was great for walking around, having a drink, relaxing on a bench. The location was ok - a solid 15-20 minute walk to other restaurants/bars.
If Uganda is the pearl of Africa, this beautiful Boutique Hotel is the Pearl of Kampala. From the gate throughout you are greeted with kindness. Beautifully appointed rooms, delicious meals, exceptional service. Highly recommended for your stay in Kampala for either business or leisure.
