Fleur de Lys Plateau is a downtown hotel is a safe but not beautiful neighborhood. There are restaurants nearby along with a mosque less than 100 meters away ( some rooms might hear the call to prayer in the early morning but for me it was not too loud) The lobby is a bit small, a little dark and needs an update. There is a doorman who will bargain for you if you'll needs a taxi. Check in/Check out was quick and friendly. The room was average size but dated. A big bottle of water was provided free. There was a safe and outlets near the bed. The internet was free and reliable. The bathroom had a rainshower. Breakfast is served on the top floor. The selection was more of continental and the selection was limited. You can order eggs. A satisfying but average breakfast. Affiliated with the hotel is a travel agency operated by Hertz rent a car (around the corner but same owner as the hotel) which provides quality private tours which are pricey but well worth the money. If you get Pape as your tour guide, you won't regret it. All in all, not a bad hotel, comfortable rooms in a good location. The staff are friendly but only a few speak English.

Good central location. Staff very friendly and professional. The rooftop restaurant/bar is okay, the 11th floor breakfast buffet is very comfortable, and both have excellent views over the city. Room was perfectly fine, cool, and somewhat insulated from the noise and hubbub of the city. Many attractions within easy to moderate walking distance, including the IFAN museum, Marché Kermel, and the ferries to Gorée Island. Art galleries and the top-quality bookstore down the street may also be of interest.

I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights during a business trip. The location of the hotel is amazing, it is a in down town Dakar, the main wholesale market is a 5 min walk from the hotel. There are many good (clean) restaurants near by. The 1st 2 days the internet was normal, for the 2nd 2 days the internet was painfully slow. I was not able to send or receive emails properly as it was that slow. My 3G phone had faster data! Also, the hotel is right next to a mosque, and the mosque had morning prayers at 5:30am! Which I could hear very clearly from my room! I am not sure if they have rooms that are facing away from the mosque.

I stayed here on a recent trip to Dakar and it was very nice. The hotel arranged transport from the airport which was very handy. Note - its a good hour maybe more to the airport so leave plenty of time on the way home. The hotel is "downtown" towards the port and the street its on looks a bit rough but its fine. Staff where friendly and rooms where very good. They have a rooftop bar where we had breakfast and drinks at night. Breakfast was ok, nothing to write home about. Wifi worked well and room had a fridge with bottled water.

Excellent place in the centre of Dakar to hold meetings. Good conference facilities, supportive and understanding staff members and the director keeping a close eye on client satisfaction. Lifts are a bit slow, but why would you do it quickly if you can do it slowly.
