Appropriately named! This hotel felt like paradise. The location was ideal for our last days in Kigali—a great starting point for walkable adventures around town. Denzel and Lawrence took great care of us when we checked in, and we loved our room—even on the first floor facing a busy road, it was quiet and peaceful. The restaurant, just up the road from the Retreat, was also terrific. It is hard to top the combination of great service, outstanding cocktails, and the beautiful view of Kigali. We also splurged on massages at the spa, and they were possibly the best of our lives. It was also very easy to arrange airport transfers, and the team was very accommodating when our flight time changed several times.

We were served by Chantal and she was absolutely wonderful. Amazing service and the food was delicious - every single dish. The restaurant has a gorgeous view overlooking the city, surrounded by trees. Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone traveling in the area.

We spent two nights at the Heaven Residence. Our first night was a quarantine stay so our airport transfer, overnight, dinner and breakfast was all included. We were picked up by Atif at the airport who was entertaining and very accommodating on our way to the hotel in Kigali.
Since we were getting in quite late I had pre-ordered our dinner from their Fusion restaurant about a week in advance of our arrival. We paid an uncharge for this as the quarantine menu has limited options available. When we arrived I asked about our dinner and was told it would be sent up. After 45 minutes of waiting we called and it was brought perhaps another 30 minutes later. A bit of a disappointment since we were exhausted after having travelled for almost 24 hours. Thankfully there was a common sitting area that was shared by several rooms with a table and chairs as we would not have had any space to eat in our room.
The room in the Residence is very small. The bed took up majority of the floor space. Large cupboards were helpful to tuck away luggage since there was limited room for moving around. The bathroom was also very tiny. We had a tiny balcony with a view of the pool.
The breakfast was up the road. There was a lot of variety but we found the food to be lacking somewhat. Many of the buffet items had flies on them (hard to control given it was an outside venue). They did have a fresh omelette station which was nice. We found the staff to be unengaged and my husband had to ask for coffee twice.
The front desk staff while helpful, had to be asked a couple of times with requests such as printing our test result and calling a taxi, etc.
We used the pool after receiving our negative arrival test and that was nice.
Our second night was uneventful but satisfactory. We were just underwhelmed. The property has a lot of potential but just didn't live up to what I was expecting.

Pros: well tended grounds, quiet neighborhood, clean rooms, helpful front desk, easy access to trusted taxi drivers. Good room service. Great restaurants with tasty delicious fare. Walking distance (10 mins) of downtown (beware, Kigali is HILLY); the songs of birds singing in the morning. Access to yoga classes and other physical activities. Good wifi internet speed.
Cons: rooms may be small depending on your selection. Hot water in shower might take a few minutes to come on. There is no phone in the room. Limited electrical outlets. Would have been nice to have immediate access to more than 1 roll of toilet paper per day. The kettle and teacups are kept in an odd location above a minifridge in the wardrobe.
Overall; A decent experience. Food is superb.

The small but comfortable room has a king size bed equipped with mosquito netting which we did not use. The bathroom is also small but adequate with a good sized shower. Amenities included a hot water kettle and a French press for coffee; shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and a hair dryer in the bathroom and a good wifi connection. The room also had a small patio with a table and chairs, perfect for indoor dining when you are in quarantine waiting for your test results. Staff is friendly and was helpful hunting down Covid test results when there was a problem with one of our test codes.

I stayed at the Heaven in December, first as a quarantine hotel and then when I came back for my last few days in Kigali and the value for the price was really great. The confort was excelelent, the room clean and the personnel was really professional and attentive. The included breakfast had a lot of variety and was excellent. Also, the location is really great and you are only at 15 minutes walk from the testing center at Kigali Village (wich is a consideration to have in this time of pandemic) .

I honestly didn’t know what to expect from my visit to Rwanda but “Heaven” was certainly the last place on my mind lol. Boy was I wrong, Heaven on earth was the absolute delight I found myself in, in this beautiful boutique hotel! Nestled in the everlasting hills of Kigali is a piece of paradise, with the people to match it. As a solo female traveler from South Africa I must say this was by far the place where I felt the most welcome and at home especially during these COVID times. The staff were ever so helpful, with faces full of smiles, I felt well looked after and joyfully so.
A huge heartfelt thank you to the owners Alissa and Josh, whom I had the pleasure to meet, who didn’t mind me crashing some of their morning workout sessions lol😂🙈. Thank you for your wonderful travel advice and tips, for your generosity and making me feel so at home and at ease.

I like this hotel; even if rooms could get a clear refresh, the workers are efficient and food is good. But… if I give a 3 stars it’s because their way of attracting people on the hotel.com/kayak etc web réservation services: they show images of their best hotel, they make you reserve a «room with a view on the pool », at a fair price; when you arrive they tell you that at this price you have to go to their low budget location… when there is no view on the pool, because there is no pool! After discussion, you decide to go in the building with the pool, and they double the price that you got with hotel.com! So, I think it’s a little scammy way to attract you. In my country, the hotel would have to respect the contract; not here (the owner is Américain…); you pay or you go on the low budget location. Too bad.

I have been there for around 2 months, the staff was very kind and helpful, especially the room service and the housekeeping staff. The complementary breakfast was really good. 👌 Before it was boring to watch only local language and french channels but their upgrade with the amazon firestick with the good Internet speed it was amazing. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful to get a convenient room of our choice upon availability. 👏👏.
