Beausejour: take the guest house, not the hotel!
The Beausejour actually consists of a hotel and an "auberge" (guest house) which is located 500 m up on the same street. I have stayed multiple times at both and strongly recommend the guest house. The guest house consists of low, classic buildings nicely spread over a lush garden; each room has its own porch. Staying here for about $45 to $60 (some negotiation possible) gets you a regular breakfast, a nice room, a running (even warm!) shower and internet. Musquito net in all rooms. The hotel is a high, modern building, consisting of more spacious and expensive rooms ($90 upwards) with a great balcony view and a more fancy breakfast (buffet). The rooms are more fancy, but the showers actually work less than the guesthouse, as in the hotel, they turn off the water pump regularly to save money. The one advantage of the hotel, for business purposes, is that they have space and facilities to host workshops/meetings. The hotel is more anonymous. For the lunch buffet, which is RF7000 ($15), it is worth it to walk ten minutes up to the roundabout where a variety of restaurants offers pretty much the same for RF2000 ($5). The staff is generally nice but they refused a colleague of mine coming up to my room/balcony to work during the morning, as they suspected the woman to be a prostitute--this was highly insulting for her and embarrasing for me. Therefore, in sum, the choice is easy: guesthouse, rather than hotel. Enjoy!

    Excellent Decent Priced Hotel
+ The rooms in the back come with an excellent views + staff is very friendly and honest + walkable to nice restaurants/bars, parliament - Wifi connectivity was iffy and slow - shower curtain falls smack in the middle of tub - ac rooms is better

    end of a long trip
we finished a camping/safari/gorilla trek tour here and it was a great way to finish. Good rooms and a decent restaurant with fantastic views over Kigali. it isn't the fanciest hotel but is better than we expected

Booked by Exodus travel as a stay before our flight. Room looked ok but no hot water for that needed shower, only one towel and then the bathroom flooded. Lots of black moulds on the bathroom ceiling too. Friendly staff but really not good enough.

In the summer of 2022 I took a large group of people to stay at the Beausejour. We had a fantastic there. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. The food is tasty and plentiful. The hotel's greatest asset is its staff. They could not do enough to help us and serve us! No request was too great and they went to great lengths to ensure our visit was comfortable and successful. Several group members also enjoyed wonderful treatments at the onsite spa which were priced very competitively. I am looking forward to booking my next visit to beautiful Rwanda and will certainly stay at the Beausejour again.

This hotel is on a main road but even if you get a room at the back it is noisy. Breakfast was included but the buffet was nothing to recommend. The room smelled of smoke. No air conditioning. Mosquito net fell down during the night. Bathroom had a door stop that was a trip hazard. Wifi is very poor quality in the rooms. Room was clean but sheets and towels well past their best. Mattress was cheap foam. I was there for a week and did not get a good nights sleep all that time.

Certainly not the best place I have ever stayed at - either in Africa or the rest of the world. The room was really good. Very spacious and comfortable. Plenty hot water and a pretty good view as well. The breakfast was wanting quite sadly! I think I was the only guest in the hotel for the night! On the breakfast buffet there was 2 of everything - and very limited at that. Anyway, all I needed was a comfortable bed for the night that was close to the airport - that I certainly got. The airport shuttle service was excellent. Thank you. In summary - great rooms and shuttle service. Be prepared to eat elsewhere.

Stayed in the hotel overnight on journey to Musanze. Located on the main road close to airport. Friendly welcome on arrival . The room wasa quite large with balcony giving a view of the city . You can just enjoy the city view sitting there particularly in the evening when weather is very pleasant.. There is no facility for making tea / coffeee in the room . There is notice not to use Irion without taking permission from the hotel authority. The bathroom is small , lot of space occupied by the bathtub. Hot water takes a bit time.. The restaurant at the lower level is quite spacious again with sit out. The bar is also adjacent to the main dining room and have a large balcony. Limited choice of menu , mostly continental and african dishes. However the staff was very helpful and made dish more like vegetable indian curry. The helping is quite large - we, group of 3 could not finish off the ordered dishes. Being made from fresh vegetables ( probably organic ) taste excellent. The bar is also adequately stocked - there is also a large lobby. Breafast is also served here , there is no other restaurant . Here choice is limited but adequate.. Lot of parking space is available at the lower level and there is a tent suitable for large gathering.

There are some hotels that were once a hit but quietly dying off into the new age of hospitality and obviously this is one those. The hotel is conveniently located right by the road as you enter into Remera centre. So its very easy to get to plenty of shops, banks, salons, bars etc. Finding a typical description of this hotel is target hard. Its got old fixtures but they seem to have tried to keep them working. However I sleep with one eye open as the knob on my door didn't seem to snap back into place when I closed the door so I was weary. In the morning I had time run the tap for about 20 minutes as it spat and poured out brown water. Eventually when it cleared abit, I was then able to take a shower. Yes the water was hot. It's an old bathtub with a shower head fixed to it which was interesting. I also asked for a wake up call which I was assured I would get though up to the moment I chanted out no call came through. The bed was okay, and was lined with plastic wrap on the mattress which indicated the primary use for which the hotel is visited urghhg (but it was one night!). The staff were really very polite but not very helpful. One of my colleagues needed a late check out since her flight was at midnight but they just told her to book another night. Not even 1 hour more or 2. The view from the room was great as it was at the Back and I consoled myself with that. WIFI:WAS very sporadic And unreliable which was annoying since I had plenty of last minute things to do. I was however able to doz off abit and that sufficed since I had a very early morning journey. I am not so sure I would choose to go back voluntarily. Though nothing terrible happened it was also sad to see the place so run down and very little effort put into renovaing.

Our last Hotel stop on an Exodus tour of Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda. This struck us as a very accommodating Hotel - helpful staff, free Airport shuttle, good facilities in the rooms. The Hotel is some way out of the City Centre but, if you don't mind walking there's plenty of scope to get out and look round. We had a room at the front, on a corner but were never really troubled by noise. The restaurant was reasonable for both 'western' and African food and we liked the choice in the bar.

We ended our three week trip here and it was a very relaxing place to stay. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming including the great security team. Our bedroom was a great size with a large king size bed plus a mosquito net around to pull down in the evening. The bathroom was good with a lovely hot shower and bath. Great views from our balcony across the city. Our balcony had two chairs and a table and was perfect to sit out in the evening and watch the skyline come to life. Breakfast was fairly simple with a basic but nice selection of continental and African food. The bar was nicely stocked and again you could enjoy the views from a small outside terrace. Would happily stay here again if in the area.

This was booked as part of group trip in Rwanda and Uganda. It is modern with large rooms and great water pressure. The staff is very accommodating. When the wifi was not working well for me, they rebooted it and then it was some of the best in the city. There is no AC, but the mosquitoes were rare and there were mosquito nets. The breakfast did not vary much from day to day, but there are omelettes made to order and fresh squeezed juices.
