If you must have glitz and modernity with room service when you travel, the Banana Guest House is not for you. but if you prefer to get a flavor of what a country is all about, this is the perfect place. The accommodations are homey and charming with comfy beds, lots of closet space and rustic furnishings. The staff were... More

Our flight arrived in Kigali after midnight, so the front desk guy stayed awake to wait for us and give us our room. The room was lovely and comfortable, although in the morning we discovered a slow leak in the bathroom that created a small puddle. They repaired it quickly. The location was excellent, and the breakfast on the front... More

I stayed here during my 3rd trip to Kigali and found it to be quite poor standard. The rooms are very small. They are not well organized although friendly. It is VERY overpriced considering the options nearby which are vastly better value. The only real thing that Banana guest house has going for it is their location but otherwise, the... More

The rooms were clean, simple and comfortable. The location was a nice walk to the city center and the staff was helpful and professional. I ate dinner there and the food was delicious. The breakfast was also very good.

The standard of this guest house is high. It is neat and clean, while the rooms are cosy. The guest house holds in many ways hotel standard, (in-room telephones, laundry service, mini-mini-minibar consisting of one bottle of wine). It has also one of the most excellent restaurants in Kigali (its Belgian chef used to work for the Zairian dictator Mobutu),... More
