I spent 4 nights here at the end of a 3 week trip to Namibia. This lodge is beautiful and even better then the pictures. Private pool and Sala to sit watching the animals or reading. The staff is friendly and helpful . The food was excellent. I felt very welcome and enjoyed the daily game drives. I am planning on going again the next time I am in Nambia.

This place is a true marvel. You will find yourself in complete and beautiful wilderness just 1 hour away from Windhoek Airport. The design of the guest bungalows is cozy and stunning. When the owner Wilfried takes you for a game drive, you have a good chance to see some giraffes and other game - and maybe one of his surprise wild game. Otjimbondona is just the perfect place to start your journey through Namibia

We have just spent a very short stay of 3 days at Otjimbondona. Hospitality was amazing and our suite phenomenal. If you're looking for silence and a getaway from our busy world this may just be the place. Temperatures are high in the summer - to be expected. Game drives do NOT give you access to the big five but having said that we were fortunate to see a huge range of antelope and two species of zebra. In addition, if you wish to see a variety of birds (and raptors) this is the place to go.

With all my travels I have 4 places in the world where I had this feeling that I belong there. Otjimbondona Kalahari is one of them.
Space, beautiful views, nature, a park with animals where you can walk or take a game drive, stunning sunsets and sunrises, night skies full of stars, attention to detail, elegance and kindness. You really feel the time to stop at Otjimbondona. Namibia is big and so beautiful but sometimes you don't have to go very far to look for this beautiful African experience. I am so happy we've discovered Otjimbondona. It's a place on our "come back" list!
Thank you so much Anita for this little paradise! Can't wait to be back.

Wow! What a beautiful and quiet place. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are large and luxurious. The view from our room was fantastic, with lots of wild animals. Our room had large windows, so we could enjoy the view, but still the room felt is very private. We really enjoyed this fantastic place. It was a memorable holiday.

Being retired, in good health and living in Windhoek, my husband and I are in the privileged situation to travel widely and frequently in Namibia. We have visited MANY lovely lodges, situated in the most spectacular environments, serving good food, having really friendly staff and offering good to quite luxurious accommodation.
Otjimbondona offers all of the above. What then sets it apart from the rest?
The accommodation at Otjimbondona (only four exquisite villas) is absolutely stunning. In terms of privacy, space, lay-out, attention to detail, quality of linen/bathroom amenities/furniture and general fittings, Otjimbondona is second to none! We spent three glorious nights there and when we were offered another game drive (massage and game drives are part of the all-inclusive rate) on our last day, we turned it down, purely because we wanted to spend as much time possible in our lovely villa!!
Because of the complete privacy and wonderful space of your villa, the term “home away from home” does come to mind. The sheer indulgence of real good quality, luxury and good service are constant reminders though, that you are not home!
Otjimbondona cannot be described, it has to be lived, it has be experienced!! Be sure to book at least two nights, preferably three.
For a special treat, a celebration of an important occasion, a time of utter rest and privacy or just to recharge our batteries, Otjimbondona will be our nr 1 choice in Namibia.

I stayed at Otjimbondona in October at it was simply magic. The spacious villas are very well appointed, beautifully done and cleverly positioned so that you are not looking on anyone and vice-a-versa. My verandah (with private rim-flow splash pool!) overlooked the plains and a pan which was teaming with antelope and zebra when I awoke in the morning. Victorian bath, panoramic shower, atmospheric lighting...

Staff and owners were very friendly and helpful and the whole experience was very relaxing and peaceful. Definitely worth a stay!

When we arrived at Otjimbondona our first words were “Wow, this is even more impressive than the web site! This is like something out of Condé Nast Traveler.” Our spacious villa, with vaulted ceilings, and huge glass doors, mirrors an unspoiled landscape that seems to go on forever. Wide open spaces are instantly peaceful, instantly soothing.

We didn’t want to leave our very long, (50ft/over 15m) very private deck.

Immaculate Villas are loaded with premium comforts. Inset windows high into the vaulted ceilings offer a bit of stargazing from bed. The spacious shower gets nice and hot, with great water pressure, and a beautiful view. The living room/kitchen area is just as impressive. The weather (late April/early May) was lovely, high of 86f/30c not humid at all, so we spent lots of time unwinding on our lavish deck with our own personal infinity splash pool. From our deck we observed a herd of Waterbucks at the watering hole, and Ostriches scrambling off in the distance.

Once again we were treated to Namibian warmth and graciousness. We felt truly welcome. We were well cared for. Anita, Wilfried, Lazarus, Kodensia, Gail, and Emmanuel all love Otjimbondona. It’s easy to see why they have so much to be proud of. They are happy to share their passion. All were extremely accommodating, while at the same time respectful of our privacy.

Delicious meals have the flair and flavors reminiscent of European Cafés. Fine South African wines are nicely chilled. A classic European Breakfast is served at the table. Our own private buffet (a cold meats and fine cheeses tray, cereals, milk, yogurt, breads, fresh-cut fruits, fresh squeezed juice, all served right on the table) also a choice of hot made to order eggs/meats. Each meal, with the sweetest smile, Kodensia would lovingly set our table. Napkins were artfully folded into a variety of original designs that she created. Our dietary special requests were graciously catered to. Twice prior to our arrival Anita asked if we had any special dietary requests or concerns. The tap water is perfectly safe to drink. It has a nice pure taste. We were very pleased to see many environmentally friendly practices in operation. Thank you Otjimbondona Kalahari Lodge!

The one-hour Meerkat Program – Don’t miss it!
Begins at 08:00, which is the best time to see them. Early in the morning Emmanuel scouts out their current location. (Meerkats move around a lot and we learned a lot!) Emmanuel then calls Lazarus, who drove us to the active Meerkat site. Once there, we relaxed on portable seats while observing the natural antics of these little cuties. Although popular on tv, Meerkats are even more adorable in person!

Game Drive—highly recommended.
The rolling Kalahari landscape is quite different from that of Etosha. The weather is cooler. The hoofed animals are more active. It was SO cool to see a small herd of wildebeest running free. The 2-hour afternoon (leaves at 16:30) game drive is slow and relaxed. Lazarus is an excellent, knowledgeable guide (and a darn good driver!) Mike was having some trouble with his knee, so Lazerus took great care to drive extra slowly. He avoided bumps as much as possible. He stopped for photos. Lazarus generously shares his love of Otjimbondona, the Kalahari and all of its’ wildlife. As the game drive was coming to a close, Lazarus was eager to get us back to the Lodge for sundowner. He didn’t want us to miss the beautiful show that was about to unfold. While relaxing in comfortable chairs on the Lodge deck, sipping fine South African Chardonnay, and nibbling on delicious snacks, we marveled at a spectacular sunset that seemed to stretch across the entire horizon. We sat in awe of the magnificent tangerine hues that appear after the sun has set. (Yes, I’m an artist. No painting, no photo can capture this) If that wasn’t stunning enough, the sunset was also reflected by the infinity pool that spanned the length of the Lodge. Lazarus did not rush us for dinner. He patiently waited until we were ready.

This was indeed the perfect way to end to our wonderful, exciting Namibian journey. We really needed to decompress from the long drive behind us and to rest up for the three international flights ahead of us. It did not feel like we were leaving Namibia to go home. It felt like we were leaving home.

This hotel is beyond amazing, Ive never seen a clear night sky with Milky Way like this in my life, and the sunset is beautiful, I felt like I was on other planet, the food is unbelievably delicious! Rooms are huge, Anita and the staff were very friendly and kind, you don’t have to go far or travel to other area in Namibia to feel the Namibian experience, we saw different kind of animals in the game drive like rhino! But my favourite is sitting near Meerkats and observing their behaviour they are so funny. this hotel is just 1 hour 30 minutes from Windhoek international airport, I will definitely come back again
