Immanuel Wilderness Lodge is not much of a "Wilderness Lodge". It is located 10 km north of Windhoek close to the highway towards Okhandja and therefore is in fact "semi-urban" rather than "wilderness". This being said, the spingbokkies, blesbucks and guinea fowl certainly add to the atmosphere of this lodge. The main building is beautifully done, the rooms are comfortably...

Without doubt the start we hoped for for our trip to Namibia. The room was ideal, the location is lovely and the food excellent. Thoroughly recommended for those looking to spend time near Windhoek but away from the city itself.

Our stay at the Immanuel Wilderness Lodge was wonderful. The food was absolutely delicious, and the device was great too. They also have many dogs and cats walking around which makes the stay more fun.

- Had to push the gate open ourselves upon arrival. - welcome was cool - pool was freezing cold - rooms were average with low ceiling because of poorly designed mezzanine (very steep steps!) - no mosquito net for beds upstairs - food ok (not 5-star level as presented) but only one menu for dinner (which was not announced upon...

I stayed at this lodge for a week. It's a good place if you want to rest and relax. The rooms are nicely decorated, clean and have a terrace. There are only 9 rooms. There's a swimming pool and a nice lounge. It's remote and Windhoek is a 40 minutes drive away but they can get you a safe and...

Immanuel Wilderness Lodge is on the B1 near Brakwater, just north of Windhoek and about an hour's drive from the airport. Bypass central Windhoek by taking Nelson Mandela and Robert Mugabe Avenues through Klein Windhoek to the B1, then north to the Weighbridge exit for the lodge. Immanuel Lodge is just west of the highway in quiet rural surroundings. Grounds...

It is a lovely place. We stop there after we arrived in Namibia on the way to Etosha National Park. The owner is an chef with many awards and offered us a super dinner with Orix barbeque. There we take the first contact with rhe wild life from Namibia with a pair of ostrich, some springbock and impala.

The Bungalows are nice and clean, with warm water, excelent matraces, mosquito net and air condition. But the main reason you might come to Immanuel Lodge is the kitchen! The dinner is excelent. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Immanuel Lodge. An oasis of tranquility in the Namibian savannah. We're located just minutes from the city of Windhoek, but you wouldn't guess it. Out here in the bush, it feels like you're a thousand miles from anywhere. Breathe in the clean, crisp air. Gaze out across the grassy plains that stretch to the horizon beneath an endless blue sky. This is the real Namibia - the landscapes, the animals, the people. The Immanuel Wilderness Lodge lets you experience it all up close, without sacrificing comfort. We're a family-run business that offers quality amenities, a "gemütlich" atmosphere and award winning German-African cuisine. So join us. Come to relax, to unwind, to discover. Immerse yourself in the mystery and majesty of the Namibian wilderness. Our rooms offer cosy comfort and a rustic, authentic Namibian atmosphere. The thatched roofs and ceiling fans keep the temperature pleasant year round, whether you're visiting in the hot months of summer or the middle of winter. All rooms have their own ensuite bathroom with 24-hour hot water. While the sublime surroundings may tempt you to sit back with a good book and relax all day, there's so much more to explore in the local area. We offer guided tours to nearby farms, where you'll see the mythical wildlife for which Africa is famous, such as lions, leopards and cheetahs. The Kavango carver's market is a great place to experience local artisan culture and pick up some souvenirs. And just 20km to the south lies Windhoek, the nation's capital, with its colourful streets and distinctive German atmosphere. Immanuel Wilderness Lodge is perfectly situated in a central location. You can reach any of these sites in just a few minutes' drive. ... more   less
