Stayed here 1 night as part of a group of 12 some of us initially had problems with our key cards the rooms were big and had wifi and air conditioning Our food which was a Buffett was excellent plenty of everything And also an excellent breakfast in the morning
Rooms great, very clean hotel, lovely pool & garden. Food is superb here, especially the beautifully cooked vegetables. Best quality buffet food I have ever experienced. A great first night to start my tour of Namibia, wouldn’t have minded a night of relaxation here to finish off the holiday before flying home.
A nice flash large hotel but I'm not sure the staff are up to it. Couldn't get in the room as key not enabled and not enough food for early breakfast as another tour group had eaten it all. Staff on reception were slow and had no cash apparently! Rooms were good and the surroundings were smart and well kept. A bit out of town so taxis needed. If you're into geology there is a great small museum in a building just across from the hotel. Only there one night so didn't try the pool, sauna etc.
From the outside the hotel looks to be a perfect last night hotel in Namibia. The entrance area looks very up market, the rooms are a good size, but that we where the good is outweighed by the bad. We were in a large group all located on the same floor, and when we all reached our respective rooms we ALL found out that our key cards were not operating as the reception forgot to swipe them so as to activate them so this required 1 person from each room going down to the reception and waiting in turn for somebody to do the biz. We were due to leave the hotel early, but when we got to the breakfast area then nothing or very little was left as another touring party had got there 1st, and asking the staff to replace the food was very trying as at 1st they were reluctant as the chefs had only prepared what they concidered as being sufficient for both tour groups. After breakfast or what was available I went to settle my bill for drinks the previous night, and whilst the reception staff appeared helpful it then transpired that they do not carry any change, and whether this is a ploy for a tip or not then I am not sure, but after the breakfast or lack of breakfast issue then I was unwilling to leave the differance. I did then suggest that I owed them, but somehow from a magic drawer cash change appeared so I believe my 1st thought of looking for a tip was correct…
I spent 2 nights at the hotel for a conference. The conference venue was great. I think they should improve on their refreshments; Horrible candy: more like stone, no drinking water in the room and clogged bathroom. The new trainee girl at the reception needs to be retrained( if she has been trained) on customer relations. She should learn how to talk to people esp bkacks? There was a 3 hour power failure and the mgt didn't find it appropriate to at least apologise to their guests. I enjoyed the food. I will give the mutton stew a 100/100.
