We spent only one night here during a layover and wish we could have stayed longer. Beautifully appointed rooms (all suites) and a fine restaurant. The staff were friendly and accommodating. If one is to stay in Windhoek this is the place to be.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of 10 days in Namibia. A very pleasant stay in an upmarket boutique hotel. The suite we had was just beautiful, bed comfortable and the staff helpful. Our suite did have a plunge pool on the deck but the government has said that they can't be used because of the drought.... More

Wonderful little hotel with the decor for what could be a dream start or end to your Namibian adventure. As usual with most hotels and safari lodges in Namibia all the taps in the bathrooms move when you turn on or off the water, we had to call for assistance to get the gas open fire working. Breakfast is a... More

We are glad that you liked the style and the décor of The Olive, and that you enjoyed chatting to our junior staff members about your Namibian holiday. However, we can only apologise for the gaps in the service offered by our reception staff while you were there. We are grateful to you for drawing our attention to the attitude... More

The rooms are wonderfully designed and as a photographer I love the huge pictures of Namibia on the walls. The staff was very friendly and the dinner excellent. Unfortunately I only had one night and it was a very short one as i had to catch a very early flight to Cape Town but I will definitely be back at... More

Wow! We spent the night at The Olive Exclusive before heading out on safari, but the stay was so peaceful and relaxing that we truly wish we could have stayed longer. The rooms are comfortable and very well-appointed. The bathrooms are beautiful. The grounds are gorgeous. Kids had a blast in the pool - small, but big enough to cool... More

We stayed one night at the hotel and wished I would have had an extra night. I think the rooms is one of the most beautiful which I have ever had. The interior is amazing. We had a room with living/kitchen area, terrace with pool, bedroom and large bathroom. It was utterly amazing and I wished I could have taken... More

We traveled for more than a month and this is the only negative review we are making- very unusual as our experiences throughout Cape Town, Namibia and Botswana were otherwise exceptional and without complaint. The concierge staff at the front desk were disinterested -very close to rudeness. Our room was at the end of the property immediately adjacent to a... More

Many thanks for this review and for drawing our attention to the unusual issues experienced during your stay at The Olive. This is especially upsetting as we are all too well aware of the noise and disruption caused by the building work that has been going on next door to the hotel and we do have a policy of moving... My family and I recently stayed two nights at the hotel en route to the Sossusvlei desert. We stayed at the Olive Exclusive for a first night in Namibia and last. The hotel is conveniently situated in central Windhoek and is an easy drive from the airport. The rooms are large and have all the mod cons needed for a... More

The Olive was a nice place to stay during our 3 nights in Windhoek but I would not say it was spectacular. I will say that this hotel has amazing decoration and style and that the room was amazing and beautiful. Location is great and the food was above average. Can't miss a short walk to Joes Beerhouse if you... More

We stayed twice at Olive Boutique in Windhoek - once at the start of our safari and once at the end. We had room 1 for the first stay and room 3 for the second. Room 1 was fine although you have so many light switches to turn on and off that it takes an age to go to bed... More

Many thanks for this review. We were sorry to hear that your second night’s stay did not live up to the first one, but we are grateful for the constructive feed back concerning the light conditions in Suite three, although surprised that this has never been raised as an issue before. Your comment on light switches is well received and... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This intimate boutique hotel in a tranquil corner of Windhoek embodies the very essence of chic comfort. The Olive Exclusive – the first ultra-luxurious sanctuary of its kind in the Namibian capital – is cool, contemporary and stylish but with a warm heart and authentic African soul. Its sleek, modern lines are complemented by organic textures, natural furnishings, an eco-friendly approach and dedicated personal service.Simple elegance is key, from the organic rough-hewn wooden benches and side tables, through the sculpted chunk of granite that serves as a coffee table in the guest lounge, to walls clad in abstract Namibian landscapes by well-known South African photographer Micky Hoyle. The seven suites are individually decorated so each reflects a different region in Namibia, and each has its own lounge area with fireplace and dining room, for private dining. Wide glass doors open onto spacious decks where you can relax on a shady daybed, enjoy al fresco lunches or, if yours is a premium suite, take a dip in your own private plunge pool.Such are the creature comforts that you may find it hard to leave: sink into an extra-length bed dressed in crisp, pure-cotton linen, or indulge in a bubble bath in a freestanding tub with sweeping mountain views. Air-conditioning, satellite TV and iPod docking stations are standard, as is a computer with WiFi access. Then there's a fully stocked mini bar, complete with a premium wine selection, so you can toast the setting sun in fine style. The Olive Exclusive boasts a quality restaurant featuring a seasonal menu, with inventive signature dishes. The fully stocked bar also features a classic selection of fine whisky. ... more   less
