It's an ideal location for setting up your vehicle for the start of a journey to Botswana. About 50 km from Windhoek, you can arrive there after picking up a rental and doing all your shopping in the city by mid afternoon. 3 beautiful quiet campsites with shared ablutions(1 Male

Hello?! It's an ideal location also for starting (and ending) your journey through NA-MI-BI-A ;-) ;-) Thank you very much for your recommendation and labelling us a "five star campsite" - which has its own pool, by the way, offering views to the African bush savanna. Kind regards from Ondekaremba Lodge, Econo Lodge (for self-caterers) and Campsite

First you have to buy airport transfers with them that are highly overpriced- nearly the same price as coming from Windhoek. It is far in the middle of nowhere and does not compare with the lodges we stayed at in Namibia whatsoever. The eco lodge are filled with creepy crawlies

Our Econo Lodge offers basic rooms for a very affordable price which does not compare to the rates of most of other lodges in Namibia. It is situated a 5 min walk from the reception of the main lodge. Ondekaremba is connected to the power grid of our national electricity provider NamPower. Unfortunately NamPower had a power outage for our area in order to fix a problem caused by a heavy thunder storm the day before. Free WiFi is available at the lounge / reception, but obviously does not work during a power outage. The costs for the transfer cannot only be calculated by petrol consumption and usage based on the distance to the airport. The bulk of our costs are the investment for the Toyota Quantum (10% interest in Namibia) and the salaries for three fully-employed drivers with public drivers license. We need three drivers to guarantee the shuttle service on a daily basis - in case one falls sick while another one is on leave. "Charge for waiting at reception" is not quite accurate. Ondekaremba offers a day visit which includes the use of facilities such as pool, shower, garden, lounge, free Wifi and hiking trails. Many guests, whose flight is in the evening, like to spend the last hours before their take-off rather at our lodge than at the airport. This also refers to guests who spend the night before at another place and have to vacate their room at 10:00. We are sure that our reception manager would have explained all this to you if you had asked. Kind regards from Ondekaremba

I stayed here one night this week waiting for my flight out of Windhoek. The price I paid was low for a one night stay in any accommodation so close to the airport. The price did not include food or drinks of any nature. It is perfectly placed for Windhoek airport, and despite

Thank you very much for this comprehensive feedback. We will look into the issues you mentioned. The Ondekaremba Econo Lodge is meant for self-caterers who enjoy the feeling of spending the night in the bush. It is especially popular with families and groups from South Africa, but more and more also with budget-oriented tourists from Europe and the US. All beds are equipped with mosquito gauze so guests can open the windows for a cooling breeze. However, we do acknowledge that during hot summer nights it can remain quite warm in the rooms. The communal pool should be cleaned on a daily basis. Obviously that was not the case during your stay. Please accept our apologies. The Econo Lodge does not offer Wifi, but there is cellphone reception. Kind regards from Ondekaremba

We booked this hotel as it is very close to the airport; a 15 minute drive. We were promptly picked up by our extremely friendly driver, Melwin. We stayed at the main lodge which was very close to the office. There are 12 units (some connected to each other). Our room was

:-) Especially when there is no moon, you see nothing but the myriads of stars in the sky... The bungalows of our Ondekaremba Econo Lodge for nature-loving self-caterers do have small terraces with outside lights, a barbecue area and a pool as well as a common building with a kitchen, a dining room and inside fireplace. Should guests decide not to barbecue or cook for themselves, they are welcome in the restaurant (pre-booking required) which is in fact just a 3 min walk away. But yes: You should have a torch. The Econo Lodge is a relatively new addition; we might look into adding lights for the footpath in the near future. Our four course meal for dinner (set menu) is actually included in the rates, as they are on a DBB basis. In a restaurant in town you would pay the same if not more - and please be aware that we are a bit further away from the supermarkets. Kindly also allow us to emphasise that we do offer free Wifi - not in the rooms, but in the lounge at the reception. The pool is cleaned on a daily basis. We try to treat the water with as little chlorine as possible, so sometimes might look a bit cloudy. In any case we like to thank you for your feedback, thus giving us the opportunity to scrutinise our facilities and services. A big thank you also from our staff for the overall positive comment (four stars!) and your comment about their hospitality and helpfulness. Kind regards from Ondekaremba

We chose the lodge for the close location to the airport before departure. Pricewise we thought that it should be a wonderful place, but we were very disappointed. The room was big but dated and just basic. Dinner was the only bad one in Namibia. Very loveless prepared.
