The hotel staff are friendly but the hotel is not in a quiet spot. The evening cupcakes were a nice touch and the garden is pretty if a bit neglected. The breakfast was dismal - cold food and insufficient amounts for the number of people eating.

We have just stayed in Villa das Mangas for 3 nights whilst exploring Maputo. The hotel is in a great location, as you can walk to great restaurants in the evening and pretty much everywhere during the day. The staff are very friendly, which is refreshing as so many hotels lack personality. I stayed here in 2007 and although their... More

First visit was in 2007 and it was truly an undiscovered gem with excellent service located in the best part of Maputo Most recent visit was two weeks ago with no advance notice as my wife and child and I were unexpectedly in Maputo after a long drive from the North and were too tired to drive more so I... Mozambique being the first african nation for me to visit, being a middle eastern I was a bit paranoid with the initial welcome at the airport and was wondering how the hotel would be. Villa Das Mangas seemed very affordable compared to the other hotels like Polana and Radisson which were a bit over the extremes. Having booked a suite... More

This hotel is hidden and you would never thought till you walked trough the doors how nice it is. Its an old hotel, but for what it offers, age doesn't matter. Its close to all the shops and restaurant, with in walking distance. The pool is the best to cool down in the hot Mozambique sun. Staff at this hotel... More

I stayed here when I was traveling with a group for a conference. I am NOT a picky traveler, but this place has some serious management issues. The Good: There is a nice poolside area where you can sit and have a drink or a meal. Food is a bit pricey, but not bad. Try the "Naco de Pedra" which... More

Restaurant looks good from the outside but once inside table cloths dirty, servers forget orders, cant get water for 30 minutes. They keep passing by. Bad air circulation. A guest across the room ordered something on a hot plate and it got smoky in the entire room.

I thought it was better from pictures, the service and (looking nice) restaurants sucks, the air conditioning of room didn't work well, I hear rats walking in the room (!!!) I really hope to survive tonight ! Position is good as central but really can find better at this price

Hotels in Mozambique is very expensive and offers a bad service, this is a good example of one of them. Staff is very friendly but the rooms are very old with bugs inside and small. The breakfast is good, with a good variety. The executive rooms are in a separate area with contents.
