The Hotel is situated near the Municipal Produce market of Maputo. The rooms are spartan, not a very high standard and realy only the basics. It is not in the normal tourist part of town and seemingly not a safe part. The food in the restaurant however is of good standard and for just a night stop it is not... More

My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel as part of an organised tour travelling around Mozambique, therefore had no part in choosing the hotel. The hotel smelt atrocious, between the lobby and the bedrooms there was an overwhelming smells of gas, sewage and mould. The hotel did not feel safe as once we left our rooms we could not... More

Maputo...pretty much hated it. Police are as crooked as they come. Kept flagging our bus down to fine our driver for everything and waited in the bushes and trees to catch a tourist taking a photo. Any photo. Against the law for people to photograph any public buildings but police just said anything we snapped was a public building. Nothing... More

Hotel is in an awful condition. Air conditioning was pumping out moist air. The staff are friendly apart from one of the night shift. Wouldn't ever recommend it. Don't waste you're money. Spend a bit more somewhere else

This hotel was the old Ibis. The location is the best thing about this hotel. It is within walking distance to the Market, city hall, Maputo shopping center etc. Rooms are very basic and tiny. Breakfast was reasonably good, and so was the safety.Wifi didn't work

This former Ibis hotel is really old and there are much better options. The location is really good, so maybe the Tivoli nearby might be a good alternative. The good things: AC works well, staff is very friendly, room was clean. But this cannot compensate the old shower curtain, the water leaking from the toilet, the slow reception service...

I was at the hotel for June/July. Good position in the city to many cafés, Post Office, weekend bazaar, ATMS, the shoping mall and other specialty shops. Breakfast is fine. Meals can be obtained throughout the day. Rooms basic but comfortable and include a safe. Wifi you have to pay for with a voucher from the front desk - but... More

We booked online, even with a confirmation print-out checkin took 20 minutes. Rooms are in bad repair - yellow pillows and matress , mouldy bathrooms, single bed sheet on a double matress and overall bad service. Will never go back.

Will stay again, but will not eat there again. In general the room was clean, the bedding was clean and smelled fresh. Toilet was to close to the walls and not easy to use, I am 6'2 tall. No coffee or tea in room, but there was one bottle of water. Staff can be more friendly and desk staff should... More

Clean but uninspiring. Internet not expensive but never worked in room or restaurant and no refund. Have them pick you up at airport, much cheaper than taxi. Location worked for me, but glad it was only 2 nights. Small spartan rooms.

“Do not choose a room on the 10th floor. There is a fault with one of the (two) lifts and it does not accept the 10th floor. Also, the lifts are very slow and whilst certified for 8 persons, are restricted to 4 persons. The breakfast is adequate but basic, drinks are very expensive with a small bottle of local beer costing $5.00.”
