A lovely clean and comfortabke room, loved having an air conditioner! It was the perfect place for a stopover from Johannesburg to Tofo! The food was delicious and the beer nice and cold. A peaceful and calm oasis to rest in before continuing your journey!

We stopped over here after a 11 hour drive from Durban. The situation is just perfect. Clean comfortable rooms. Most rooms have safe parking right next to room so no need to unpack vehicle. Paul is a great host and a mine of information on Mozambique. The pub is cosy with great atmosphere. The menu is limited but thoroughly enjoyed... More

We used the Blue Anchor Inn as a stop over for both our journey to and from Tofo near Inhambane recently. The lodge is lovely and very comfortable, but what stood out the most is the very friendly and hospitable hosts and staff. The food was AMAZING and plentiful.Liz was so accommodating and even packed cheese sandwiches for our children's... More

Great place to stay on a transit or if you want to be outside of the city and in a safe place. Its a great beautiful lodge close to the EN1. Owner will treat you like kings and queens. Breakfast is fantastic.

We stayed there twice and was so expressed with the place. Rooms are amazing. Their chicken dish is the best. The place is so well looked after. Nice bar area to sit and chat to the owner while eating roasted coconut.

Rooms were clean and air-conditioned, beds very comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was pleasant & quickly prepared. Our only complaint was upon arrival (10pm) the whole place was locked up & no management to be seen anywhere. The night-guard had our room key but couldn't speak a word of English which proved to be a major issue as we had... More

Fabulous bar and food. Loved the prawn curry. Very comfortable rooms. Felt safe. We will be back when next traveling past. Thank you to the kind hosts. Pool for the kids to let off steam after long trip. 2 hours from komatipoort border. Coffee and rusks from 6am for the onward trip.

Been stopping at the Blue Anchor Inn for years as its a perfect halfway house if travelling from SA to further north in Mozambique, and it never fails to disappoint. It is safe, very comfortable, the food is excellent and the hosts always offer a friendly face and good conversation.
