My wife and I, accompanied by a couple who are good friends, stayed at the Labourdonnais Hotel for 3 nights prior to joining an Azamara Cruise.
Initial correspondence with the hotel reservations was very good with prompt replies to my queries, boded well for our stay, which proved to be the case. The hotel arranged transfers from MRU to the hotel which worked well and at a reasonable cost.
All the staff were very professional and gave excellent service. Jonathon, a manager in the restaurant area, in particular stood out as being very helpful and prepared to go out of his way to assist.
The rooms were well laid out and equipped with comfortable beds and a view of the waterfront through the patio doors onto the balcony. The food in the restaurant was good, local Mauritian curries were very tasty.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay, were made very welcome and would certainly stay again.

Our four-day stay at the Labourdonnais business hotel was an excellent place to relax thanks to the excellently trained service staff and the extremely appealing ambience of the hotel and the rooms.
The breakfast buffet was varied and very diverse, the start to the day couldn't have been better. At reception, all the stops were pulled out to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
Unfortunately, we hadn't reserved a table in the restaurant for Saturday evening, so we had to eat outside on the terrace. This was unfortunate, as we wanted to enjoy the live dinner music from Jason Jetty during our meal.
Jason Jetty is a gifted pianist and singer who knows how to captivate his audience with great skill. His interesting arrangements of well-known and lesser-known songs with improvisations and captivating vocal parts were appreciated with great applause by the guests present. He repeatedly makes eye contact with his listeners and wins the hearts of the guests with his charming manner.
I would recommend that the management broadcast his music onto the terrace via loudspeakers so that guests there can also enjoy his fantastic music.
After our dinner, we were able to enjoy his performance for over an hour and were so impressed that we had lunch on Sunday at the Boutique Hotel Port Chambly, where he played music for lunch.
Labourdonnaise can count itself lucky to have such a competent and professional musician in Jason Jetty on Saturday evening. As a German musicologist and musician, I was delighted to have been offered such high quality here. I would also highly recommend that guests of other hotels spend Saturday evening here.

Our booking at Le Suffren was transferred here about 2 days prior to our arrival. We enjoyed our 6-night stay but given the hotel's 5-star rating and high price, things don't all quite come together. With rooms leading off balconies overlooking an atrium, reception staff were very helpful to ensure that my partner's vertigo was not triggered and they assigned a room near the lift. This hotel impresses upon initial arrival as front desk was courteous, friendly and helpful. However, the dining room food was just OK and service both days was horrible. The only reason we went back the second day is we had booked a meal package that included breakfast and dinner. I would not recommend eating here. The hotel adjoins the mall and waterfront area with plenty of choices to eat away from the hotel all within a block or two along the waterfront. The service for both breakfast and dinner was nonexistent. They ran out of dim sum at breakfast and kept telling everyone that more was coming out and finally almost an hour later they brought out more. Both nights at dinner it took over an hour for our food to arrive and it was only brought out right after we asked about our food and it had been over an hour and then suddenly they brought it out. Wait staff were rude and inefficient and not one time did anyone come to the table to check on us during any meal. The food was just so-so. Filet mignon was not tender and not much flavor; shrimp wasn’t good, fried noodles with shrimp had a good flavor but noodles were very dried out, eggs at breakfast were burned and overcooked and service lacking.
When we checked in we asked to book a taxi to the cruise port (a little over a mile away) and the lady at reception booked and said the cost would be 500 rupees. The last night at the hotel I went to front desk to reconfirm the taxi and was told that I did not have a taxi booking and they questioned whether I booked it at their front desk. I said that I did, and was told to just come to reception when I checked out and there would be many taxis out front. Again I asked to please check for my booking and reconfirm it and the cost. A call was made and after some conversation I was then told that I did have a booking and it would be 800 rupees. So the cost suddenly went up 30% from the day before. I was told that was always the standard rate and the person who made the initial booking had given me wrong information. Seems to be another way to rip off cruise passengers.
The rooms are nice. Clean and comfortable and amenities are nice.
The Caudon mall adjoins the hotel and a nice waterfront area with shops and cafes. Shops in the craft market area in the mall and along the waterfront are very inflated.
The location is great. I would stay here for the convenience of being on the waterfront and close to the cruise port but would not eat in the restaurant due to poor and uncaring service and so-so food, and beware of taxi costs suddenly going up once you have booked and confirmed a lower rate with the front desk.
If we had not encountered the mix up with taxi booking and reconfirmation price increase at the front desk and the so so food and poor service at the restaurant for every meal the rating would have been a 5.

Stay at Labourdonnais was for business. Stay was from 12 June to 18 June 2022. Initial welcome was great, with covid testing. Ruth was very welcoming and made sure that the process was comfortable. Everyday, the breakfast was the same, the waiters were not attentive to non-white guests, and this is shocking and was very difficult to get their attention. However for the European guests, as they walked into the breakfast area the waiters were all over them, serving them hand and foot. With regards to leaning service in the room, the room was clean when I returned in the evening, however very inconsistent , meaning, one day all towels were made available, next day some towels were not supplied and neither were soaps. I was surprised there was no turn-down service for a business hotel. The Fusion restaurant was decent, however on the second time my colleagues and I went to eat, the food was not up to standard, very salty mushroom soup, which i returned and they still charged me for the soup. Cheesecake ordered from main restaurant was room temperature, so was not appetizing at all and service was extremely slow. I stand to be corrected, however i am sure it was a non-smoking hotel, however there were some guests smoking in their rooms or could have been on the balcony with the smell filtering into the rooms. I would think twice to book their for business on my next trip.

After a delayed flight and a night spent at the airport, I arrived at Labourdonnais Waterfront hotel, and from the very beginning, I felt incredibly well taken care of. Although my stay was only half a day, thanks to the kindness and professionalism of the staff, as well as the unforgettable views from the fifth floor, this short stay left a lasting impression on me.
The staff was extremely helpful, friendly, and understanding, especially knowing we had arrived after a long and stressful journey. Special thanks to Anoop!!! Nishta and Sanjeev, who went above and beyond with their attentiveness and warmth. The restaurant staff deserves praise – they were professional, and the evening concert during dinner was a lovely touch that allowed me to forget the difficulties of the previous day.
The room I stayed in was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, offering the perfect space for rest. The view from the window of the city was simply stunning. The hotel’s location in the heart of Port Louis makes it an excellent base for exploring and relaxing.
Although my stay was short, the memories will stay with me for a long time. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable stay with outstanding service and beautiful views.

I emailed this hotel many times to correct the charge for room reserved they placed on my credit card even though the room was prepaid. The customer service is not up to par of what should be expected. The reservations manager said the front desk will contact me however after several attempts to contact them there was no reply.

We stayed at Labourdonnais waterfront hotel for two nights only to celebrate my wife’s birthday. She is pregnant therefore we wanted to avoid beach front resorts and have a convinrent city stay. What a blast that was, amazing food, beautiful room, good service, welcoming atmosphere and Mr Thierry was the one who make our stay even more special. The hotel was well prepared for us, we get the baby cot for our daughter with daily delivery of warm milk and birthday dinner at Yuzu was organised for my wife with a beautiful birthday cake. Food at Yuzu was delicious and was definitely a highlight of our stay, home made dumpling to die for, fresh sashimi and juicy peking duck, all presented with a modern twist and European standards. Dinner at Brasserie chic next day was not far from the experience at Yuzu. Extensive menu that will cater for everyone: perfectly cooked beef filet, beautifully prepared pasta, high quality ingredients and fast service was definitely something we enjoyed a lot. Overall great food, welcoming atmosphere and great attention to details.
Will be definitely recommending this hotel to my friends and family.

Looking at their website it does say there are private airport transfers - maybe email them to ask? Else, there is a cashpoint at the airport, and taxis immediately outside. Most taxi also take credit cards.
There is an air condition bus that goes to Grandbay north of the island and you can catch this bus at the North bus station “ la Gare du nord. Rs 38 one way allow two hours round trip. I think 6:00 pm last bus back to Port Louis from Grand bay.
Bus 82 at la Gare du nord again, bus goes to Trou Aux Biches North West of the island, Triolet bus service, Rs 31 one way again allow two hours round trip. Again last bus from Trou Aux Biches is around the 6:00 pm.
Be adventurous try the local bus, meet the locals they are always willing to help. Most of them speak French & English.
