The staff at Eden Estates was excellent. They went over and beyond when we missed our flight to the USA. The grounds are beautiful, quality food, and great ambiance. We fly fished the pond (catch and release) and caught fish.

Very beautiful, peaceful setting. Apartments were comfortable, clean and quiet and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Gave four stars and not five only because the restaurant had limited items on its menu available during our two separate stays.

We arrived at Lilongwe airport in the early hours of the morning having been promised a transfer would be sent to pick us up. It never arrived. We managed to get a taxi but when we arrived at the supposed 'boutique' lodge, there was nobody around to meet us. Our taxi driver managed to find a night watchman to let us in. We were then put in the first empty room he could find. When we woke in the morning we found the shower was not working and still nobody had arrived to see us.It was a dreadful experience. We eventually saw the manager who said " I don't know what we can do". I suggested that they could refund us that night's charge which they did - but only because they could see how angry we were. The local staff were very friendly and helpful, Our complaint was not with them but with the management who had lots of warm words but they seemed totally incompetent and not genuinely concerned about our welfare. Because we had little chance to arrange other accommodation we reluctantly agreed to stay for one more night on our return from our trip in Malawi - before our flight home, And again they were not ready for us on our return - luckily, this time, in daylight. We were very disappointed with the quality of service. The restaurant only served fast food - burgers etc. It was OK but nothing exceptional. There may be restaurants in the region but unless you are familiar with the area- this is not a practical option. The lodge has quite an extensive garden area and it is in a peaceful area -- potentially it could be very attractive but the grounds need more attention. The area around the pond is quite scruffy and needs tidying up. I would not go back and I do not recommend it to other travellers

Dear Mr Paul Holtham I as the Owner am in total shock as to the treatment you say you received visiting our beautiful establishment. I have tried to get to the bottom of this, however we cant find your name registered within our books at all as a guest here.Could you kindly email me with further details like dates, ( maybe you registered under another name) and so on, so I can get to the bottom of this and hold the responsible people to an account. I am truly sorry for your experience. God bless

My Eden experience was amazing!! the 2 nights were unforgettable, first night slept super early because it was just super peaceful (haven't been in such an environment in a long time) the service was great, staff are super nice and the food!!!! i had something different every meal time and the chef's solo platter was my favorite, the room was clean, bed comfortable, business trip didn't even feel like it, loved working in the room, on the patio and by the poolside of the private swimming pool for residents. take me back!!!

I found Eden Estates a place to get away out of busy life and relax without driving far. It is perfect to go with kids, family and friends. The place is kept beautiful and green. The swimming pool is also good. The owner has quite a good reception.
