The food was excellent and the owners were really friendly and helpful. It is a good place to hangout in the evening. It is quite rough round the edges and needs a good clean! It also felt a little bit over priced. Would stay there again though.

I passed through Lilongwe, so I only stayed one night in a dorm at Mabuya Camp. The staff was really friendly and helpful and told me everything I needed to know to continue with my next days' travel. The food is also quite satisfactory and the special of the day is awesome!! Eventhough I was tired and didn't socialise much,...

Firstly the good points. We were welcomed in a friendly and professional young English man and shown the room (an en-suite room). The restaurant does a daily special and I must say the cooks do a great job out of their little container kitchen - I quite enjoyed every meal I had there. Plenty of hot water from the showers....

Mabuya camp has a very lovely and homey feel to it. I felt instantly welcomed and relaxed after a long trip from Namibia. The camping rounds are vast and shady, the pool is lovely and clean. The bar is lively and the location is great and I even extended an extra night because it had such a friendly vibe.

We have stayed here on four previous trips flying in and out of Llilongwe on our way to and from South Luangwa National Park in Zambia, and it has always been fun. Mabuya Camp is a walled compound in the old colonial district which has a rustic tropical feel with pleasant covered hangout porch and bar area, as well and...

Great food, comfy beds with nets, friendly helpful staff and I will be returning next year :) The swimming pool is a brilliant escape from the heat and there's a pool table and good wifi. Great atmosphere and feels really secure and safe

I stayed at Mabuya for one night in May while travelling from southern Malawi to Lusaka in Zambia. The accomodation was basic but clean, the staff were friendly and I thought that the prices for food and drinks were very reasonable. I stayed in a dorm mid week so it was nice and quiet. On busier nights on weekends I...

Stayed in the 'little house' behind the dining building for two weeks while seeking more long term accommodation. Very laid-back vibe in the camp, drinks available from reception, people hanging out playing pool, sunning by the swimming pool, a backpackers place. About a 20 min. walk to area 3 (grocery shopping, restaurants, etc.). A friend stayed in the dorm and...

I'll start with the positives of our stay at Mabuya. We arranged to be collected from the airport (for $30) which was a very easy process and our driver was ready & waiting to fetch us as we arrived. We also arranged our transfer to Cape Maclear (for $150) the next day through Mabuya which also went smoothly. For accommodation...

Thank you so much for your review. I fear you missed our other two sets of bathrooms! We have 3 sets of ablutions across the site. Sorry that you didn't find them. Also our rooms are only $30 per night not $40. I hope you enjoy the rest of your travels?

We camped here for several nights. It has a peaceful garden, lively bar and decent restaurant. Fast WiFi can be purchased too. Dog lovers will love the resident pooch. Staff are very helpful and friendly. We will definitely return.
