Such an impressive place built on a hill up from rice paddies and right where the pine forest meets primary forest. The camp is a high end camp with tents on a platform and with a shower (with hot water!) and toilet adjoined. The view from the restaurant is stunning, and the food is excellent. Everyone working at the camp... More

This was a great experience, and, given Madagascar's twin challenges of poverty and preservation, one I felt good about. Saha Forest Camp is perched on a hillside where the rice paddies meet the rain forest. It's operated by an NGO on land that belongs to the surrounding rural community, and thus provides income and employment to the local community while... More

We stayed at Saha Forest Camp for 3 nights at the beginning of June. We really loved the scenery and the peace and quiet. The bungalows have a beautiful view of the rainforest, and we were even lucky to hear the indri call twice. They are confortable but can be a little bit chilly due to the high humidity of... More

I cannot say enough positive things about Saha. I spent a weekend there and loved every second. From the walk in from the car park to the fresh and delicious food to the hikes – it was such a unique experience and provided the opportunity to encounter some of the amazing flora and fauna that Madagascar has to offer. The... More

Saha Forest Camp is a lovely refuge 3 hours from Tana, Madagascar's capital. The tented bungalows are tasteful and comfortable, the staff is professional and friendly, the management is ever present and very pleasant. The food is the best I have had in Madagascar, by far! I would go back just for a meal! It is off the beaten path,... More

We had a two night stay in this lovely property, and could not have been more charmed by the experience. The setting is beautiful, the accommodation is comfortable and spacious, and the food was excellent. The hostesses could not have been more accommodating, especially when we needed to make some last minute departure changes. The highlight, however, was the forest... More

The 500m walk leading to the camp set the tone for our stay. The forest on one side and the rice fields on the other highlighted the serene blend of environmental beauty and exquisite food awaiting us. Our hostess warmly welcomed us, explaining the different hikes available. We opted for a 2 hour day hike and 1 hour night hike.... More

We thoroughly enjoyed the calm simplicity of our three day stay in early May to Saha Camp. It nestles picturesquely on the edge of the Central Highlands rain forest and with good local guides we saw several types of lemur, chameleon, paradise flycatcher etc. etc. Do try a night walk. The service in our case was excellent and the "gourmet"... More

We stayed for 2 days, excellent environment, but the room service not so good. There is on and off electricity during the day and night, maybe because we were in low season at the time we visited. The hotel is quiet and peaceful, the room is basic and small, but quite fit into the forestry environment. You need to walk... More

What a great place to stay for 3 days. Day 1 you can trek for 5 or more hours. Day 2 go hep plant a tree (we did 10 actuallly). Day 3 rest or go night-trekking. It is also a great concept to associate locals to running the place. Also notice one of the best host ever: Shanou! Thanks for... More
