I cannot recommend du pyla enough! Fanja is a welcoming host that will treat you more like family. Beautiful rooms, I've stayed in 4 different ones! On various fly bys through Tana and longer stays. Lovely family dinners. Good location to get the public bus down town if you're keen.

For the independent traveller or business person, this is a very clean, safe, high standards and friendly independent hotel. The 'will do all I can to help' approach of the hotel owner completely overshadows any problems with its position outside central Tana. The ability to book accommodation and services (such as arranging for taxis from and to the airport) over...

During my time in Madagascar I came back to Antananarivo about four times and always stayed at Maison du Pyla. Fanja and her team make your stay not only comfortable but manage to provide a place where you truly feel at home. The rooms are nice & clean, the view from the rooftop terrace is great and the homecooked food...

This is one of the most lovely places that I've ever stayed. The rooms are all very clean and nicely arranged, the staff are lovely and the FOOD IS AMAZING! After all the hustle and bustle of Tana it was nice to come back to somewhere so chilled. I definitely recommend all travelers to stay here, you will be very...

Amazing!! Thank you to all the staff that work at this establishment. And to the owner: keep up the fantastic work. This accommodation is absolutely amazing. It feels like a home away from home; comfortable, cosy, well kept, friendly staff, accommodating service and a very clean place to stay. And the food: YUM! If you're thinking about coming to Tana,...

I was introduce to Maison de Pyla by a friend and wasn't disappointed. It's a real home away from home in Tana. The food is excellent (order dinner in advance) and the rooftop terrace a great place to kick back and relax. Book in advance; it's understandably very popular.

This is not the first time we have stayed with Faja at the Maison du Pyla. The rooms are well-appointed - all have mosquito-netting, are very clean, some are en suite, some share bathroom facilities. The warmth and the hospitality of all the staff make this a true family-type experience. The meals are very carefully prepared with an understanding that...

I can strongly recommend Maison du Pyla, run by Franja. Me and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed the stay and were so well taken care of! Beautiful old house with wooden floors, lovely little details here and there. When it comes to food - outstanding! Home made yoghurt, home made jams, freshly baked bread every morning... 3 course dinner was cooked...

This B&B is close to the university which may explain why so many of the guests were from NGOs or academia on lengthy stays. They made for fabulous conversation at meals! The hospitality was huge although the rooms still rustic. Perhaps ours was an anomaly, but we couldn't sleep in the master bed (too uncomfortable) so we split up to...
