Detailed Reviews
Me and my two colleagues stayed in Kendeja Resort for two weeks in early November. Our luggage did not arrive but the manager lady kindly provided us with some toothpaste, sunscreen and other necessities. In addition, she organized someone to get our bags from the airport office when they finally arrived.
The location of the hotel is a bliss. We loved the bungalows and waking up to the sound of the ocean. Rooms were thoroughly cleaned every day. The one thing we lost our patience with was the service - or lack of it - at the restaurant. Although the menu is long, in reality only a few of the options were available and it always took more than an hour for the simplest order to arrive. One of the waiters just rolled her eyes when giving feedback on the extra slow service. I personally didn't have problems with the internet but my colleagues did. This complicates things when on a business trip, so I would strongly recommend the hotel to work on improving this matter.
Overall, we however loved the place and will probably stay there when returning to Liberia.

I stayed at Kendeja resort a whole week for work in November and was incredibly impressed by the service. We had work meetings every day which took place in a very nice conference room. We always used other parts of the resort for smaller meetings and break out sessions which was a big plus. The facilities are excellent and professional. And then, there is the setting. Kendeja lies on a beautiful beach and the scenary (sunset!) is exquisite. The bungalows are in very good shape and very spacious. The staff was very firendly and helpful. The manager, Robbie, did her best to meet our needs and showed extraordinary flexibility, always with a smile!
I would strongly recommend staying at Kendeja to anyone looking for a relaxing and yet professional stay a mere 30 minutes from busy Monrovia!

Roberta, Reuben and Sylvia provided excellent
Customer service. Reuben greeted us every morning and made us feel very welcomed. If it was possible I would give beyond 5 stars! Stayed last week at this wonderful resort. Everything exceeds ones wildest dream of a resort. The scenery, decor and beach is beautiful. The rooms were clean and modern looking. On top they have the most wonderful staff, extremely kind and helpful with every wish.

I visited the beach at RLJ Kendeja twice this weekend and was appalled by the complete lack of service at the beachfront. From the time we ordered, it took about 45 minutes to get our drinks and almost 2 hours to get our food! Despite charging USD25 in entrance fee (refundable when you order food though), there are not enough sunbeds and those that exist are dysfunctional. The mattresses are old and full of holes. (The guy managing the beds is amazing though - very helpful!) There is ONE poor waiter/waitress covering the entire beach area, so no wonder you have to wait for your food... The grilled fish was nice but the so called buffalo wings had no buffalo sauce and were served whole, with wingtip and all.
With some additional staff in the kitchen and at the beachfront, this could have been a great experience. And some maintenance of the beach furniture would also have helped...

We were allocated rooms that had not been used for a while...the musky air, with dusty and torn bedding. We complained about it and we recieved an insincere apology as our feedback to replace bedsheets was reported as 'overturning beds'. The worst thing about this experience is knowing that we could have received value for money elsewhere. Don't go to that hotel. Just don't.

Terrible service even after giving feedback about the rooms. They will only apologise and still give you substandard services. The bedsheet are old, dirty and torn. They only offer drinking water on day one of your visit. 😥

My last month-long visit in March 2020 before COVID shut down the world to this my home for the past 12+ years was a complete and utter disappointment. The ownership and hence management change has destroyed a truly sacred property. The treatment of the Liberia staff is beyond awful. My heart is broken.

Beautiful resort. I stayed here for 3 days in November, and will definitely visit again the next time I am in Liberia. The staff was friendly and food at the poolside restaurant was delicious. My room was spacious with a large shower and a comfortable bed.

I'm in the middle of my 10 weeks world trip from Canada, and I decided to pass by Monrovia to surprise my family for a week..
I checked Trip Advisor for a good place in the Capital to spend Sunday Afternoon with my family, and I found Kendeja Resort to be a good choice for that.
We arrived to the resort, and we had to pay 80$ (10$ each) just for entrance, and we had to walk in and find our own table. There was only one available at the end of the pool area, and it had no shades or umbrellas... No one showed up to help for about 20 minutes, when a Waiter passed by, we asked for umbrella and his response was :we're very busy and try to find a "neighbor" on a table that can give you theirs ???!!!!!! ... after that, we ordered drinks, and it took a good 20 minutes for the drinks to show up (Pop and water, nothing fancy or time-consuming)... after that.. we asked for the menus... and we were waiting when suddenly the "MANAGER" , a British guy with an attituded showed up, walked to my dad, handed him a paper with "RULES AND REGULATIONS" of the resort on it and told him I see that you brought your own food and drinks with you and this is strictly prohibited...
We tried explaining to him that the drinks are from HIS resort, and the "food" that we were eating were two small bags of "pumpkin and sunflower seeds" that my mom and dad were nibbling on since we've been here for over an HOUR and we've yet to get our orders taken.. And then he said you have to spend minimum 15$ per person at the table and 5$ for kids, this is BUSINESS and we "Take care of our Hotel guests first and THEN visitors".. He then told us "There is a FREE BEACH next to us you can go there if you don't want to pay"... That's when i had to interfere , since he was getting to be oboxiously rude, and ruining our Sunday in what was supposed to be a nice Resort. I told him how we've been waiting for menus and drinks and help and umbrellas and etc... and he's like "this is a business, your money is welcome here, i'll try sending you someone now" and left...
He managed to ruin our day, and damper our moods, and at the end we paid 160$ for couple of hours of bad service and horrible Attitude from the management.
I went to see the manager later in private, and he was at the bar having a beer with someone, and they told me :he's busy discussing business....
I will make sure that me, and my family and my friends will never visit these facilities. My family has few business in Monrovia and they usually manage to stay in good connection with all hotels and resorts, but this was a very unpleasant experience and I had to write something about it....
