A little oasis in the middle of the craziness that is Accra. The pool was a particularly nice touch on a hot day. Cold beer, food nearby, very pleasant breakfast - all good! The room was really comfortable and the staff was excellent.
I decided to book a hostel in Accra during a recent work trip so I could meet like-minded people and be in a more vibrant neighbourhood. And boy am I happy I did! My first room on the ground floor was quite dark and noisy, especially in the early morning. My second room, the deluxe room, was spacious, had everything I needed included a kettle and fridge, and a view of the garden and pool. The breakfast was copious and tasty, and I was able to order food for delivery for my other meals. I was delighted with my stay. I would heartily recommend, but with the caveat that it's very noisy in the mornings so either go to bed early or bring earplugs!
During my stay in Ghana I decided to enjoy somewhere nice the first weekend. After that I came back several times and I often stayed here for 3 days, the hospitality, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff are paramount. In addition, it is a place that is local to Accra, you can easily get to shops and restaurants from here. The rooms are excellent, I stayed in the dorm rooms but also in the private rooms, you really get value for money.
Can't highly recommend this place enough if you are visiting Accra and a true testament to why you come across people who keep coming back. All the staff are super friendly and helpful - Nii, Leticia, Ima, Linda, Achu, Johnson and Chi Chi (sorry if have forgotten any names!). The location is excellent, great vibes with a pool, poolside bar, interesting mix of guests from all over the world, spacious clean rooms with an eco-friendly focus (as well as a great breakfast). Definitely coming back!
It has been a great present to me, to stay in your hostel. Everybody was so caring, Dim and Goeffrey at the reception had a lot of creative ideas to answer my questions and desires, Leticia and the breakfast-team prepared the best porridge of the world, Chichi at the bar is the "heart" of the hostel and invites all the guests to join and feel welcome every day. Snapberry taught me patiently and with passion african dance. I had lots of fun. The surrounding is very interesting - a lot of "street life" around - so...... thank you so much and I will definitely come again - Ulrike
Thanks to Geoffrey, Lindey, Dim, Kofi, Atsu, Johnson, Leticia for your hospitality and help! We stayed a few times and a few days during our journey in Ghana (july & august 2021). Nice and clean room with airco/fan and bathroom. Nice place to meet people and exchange tips.
I thoroughly enjoyed my five night stay at Somewhere Nice. The facility is clean, comfortable and safe. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Nii provides a delicious breakfast every morning and Chi Chi is excellent behind the bar. There are many delightful outdoor seating areas and a swimming pool. Who could ask for more?
I stayed at somewhere nice several times in january and june. Excellent place, friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, pool, bar central location, etc. But the best thing is the design of the rooms. They are all different, local and upcycled materials are used, simple handcrafted solutions rather than expensive mass-products. You will explore new details in every room. This is what I call ecological design.
We have really enjoyed our stay at Somewhere Nice. The rooms are designed in a bit different way than the standard hotels do but for us it was very refreshing to experience something different. Staff is very helpful, bar is opened till 11:00 pm. Breakfast is included but they do not have restaurant. Do not forget to buy the food before you come.
I arrived at Somewhere Nice intending to stay for a couple of weeks, and ended up staying for 3 months, I wish I could have stayed forever. I was able to work remotely easily using the wifi, enjoyed the amazing (free!) breakfast every day, great fresh food from Nii's stall and drinks/vibes from Chi Chi's bar in the evening. I also loved reading by the pool during the day, it's really well maintained and a great bonus. It's really a home from home, I felt really looked after by all the staff and I was genuinely so sad to leave. If you are looking for a standard/faceless hotel, this isn't the spot for you. Somewhere Nice is just that, a lovely home in a local neighbourhood with all the spirit of Africa you could hope for. I will be back as soon as I am able!
