I had the pleasure and (good fortune) to be reccomended to Legassi Gardens by a friend and spent 3 nights staying with this warm and friendly couple who run this unique guest house. Both they and their staff went out of the way to make me feel welcomed and confortable. My ensuite apartment was spacious and clean and it was very relaxing to walk through the luscious gardens full of beautiful flowers and fruit trees. I am not vegan but was enticed into the cafe where I had a refreshing mango and lime smoothie. Recommended. Will definitely be back. Thank you.
I travelled solo to Ghana for the first time. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I arrived at night, what greeted me in the morning felt like paradise. Beautiful flowers, sights and sounds that felt like home. The apartment was more than sufficient to meet my needs, spacious and clean. The roof was a lovely feature and a quiet place to reflect and meditate. Being on a plant based diet, the cafe was AMAZING. All of my needs were met, freshly prepared traditional food, allowed me to experience another element of the beauty of the culture. The personalised care and attention left me feeling safe and secure. Can't wait to return!!
I've traveled to Accra, Ghana twice in 2019 and each time I stayed at Legassi Gardens. It is beautiful, clean, quiet and the up-keep is amazing. The young men who work there are helpful, attentive and sharp on their job. You may even find their pet goat wandering around on the premises which is a cute addition to the home-like feeling. They have a restaurant, Cafe Ina Zion, on the premises with vegetarian/vegan cuisine that's prepared fresh daily. I've even had my meals served to me in my room although you can eat in the quaint restaurant if you'd like. The Jamaican stew is amazing!! Another plus is that the rooms have a kitchenette in which you can prepare/cook your meals, small refrigerator and available dishes to use as needed. The bedding was crisp and clean. Outside of my studio apartment are chairs to go outside and lounge by your door if you desire. The young men who work there will wash your clothes if needed and if they are able or you can do your own laundry by hand if you desire. The husband and wife owners, Nana and Jacinta are very accommodating. Always making sure my stay was going well and if I needed anything. As well, they would take time out of their day to stop and have a conversation. The kind accommodations even included pick up and drop off at the airport (which you have to coordinate with Nana). I always gave them $$ for taking the time to do so. Legassi Gardens also have a flat root top in which I frequented daily each morning and evening to overlook the amazing view of Accra. Additionally, their location is not far from the main hub of the market and to catch a tro tro (bus ride). Legassi Gardens is about 15 min away from Achimoto Mall by tro tro. Being a vegan I walked every other day to the market to get fresh produce from the market which was a plus for me that it is fairly close by. I would walk that distance alone as a female so it is very safe to walk day and night. Legassi Gardens is safe but is off the beaten path. It's a little tricky to get to. I also used Uber driver service while there so you may need one of the employees at Legassi Gardens to speak with the driver to help them get to the location. Also, they have a little onsite store to get bottles of waters, drinks, snacks and the like. Legassi Gardens is HIGHLY recommended. They will always been my main place to whenever I am staying in Accra. Not sure you will find a better place to stay for such a reasonable price and with such amazing amenities. Nana and Jacinta (and your daughters) thank you for an amazing experience to Accra, Ghana! Much love! Warm Regards, Abena Angela Perry…
Legassi Gardens is a beautiful oasis , with lovely views. The apartments are clean, airy and spacious . I found the smell of jasmine that greeted me in the morning very pleasant, as well as the staff, who were friendly, polite and accommodating. They have a great restaurant within the complex that serves organic natural food which is both healthy and wholesome. The whole vibe was a home away from home, In addition to local sites, tours of other places of interest were available. A wonderful experience , which I hope to repeat.
Myself and eight other colleagues stayed here for two weeks and it was one of the best places I've stayed since going to Ghana for seven years. Atmosphere is amazing, food (vegan/vegeterian) was fantastic, there is also a kitchenette where I done some of my own cooking,i enjoyed the view from roof balcony especially at nights looking down at city, staff was exceptional, they were friendly and helpful, they Also cleaned each room from top to bottom daily, personal tour guide on point. If you are looking for somewhere out of the busy hustle and bustle touristic atmosphere this is the place to be. I will be going back with another fifteen people.
