Detailed Reviews
I stayed for 4 nights at the end of a business trip. The hotel is in a quiet area not far from the airport. The rooms, whilst small are comfortable enough. The bed was good, with quiet and effective air conditioning. I liked the wood screen that could cover the window, which meant it is completely dark at night. Wifi worked well in the room. The shower is a bit open, meaning the floor gets wet and the water was not very warm.
Breakfast I thought was poor. After my first day, I walked down the road to Le Moulin which had good pastries and juice. Dinner in the restaurant was quite good. Parking on site was good.
The ATM in reception never once gave any money, despite many attempts.

Good morning,
I came to onomo as part of a business trip to Libreville. I have already come to onomo in the past but I must admit that I am a little mixed..
The staff is pleasant and very accommodating, a big plus on this point! Also, having eaten there several times, the restaurant is very good, with a light menu, which is also a positive point!
However, the rooms (and the hotel in general) deserve a serious refresh... the air conditioning in my room was average (I was hot all night), and the room was, how to say... worn out by time (woodwork , shower, toilet, etc.).
Always these long, rather austere, resonant corridors which also deserve a little attention to the decor...
Breakfast without surprises but very correct.
In summary, for a business stay, it is very correct (price depending). Small downside on the room.

Perhaps a two-star hotel if located anywhere else. Front desk was baffled by visitors. Rooms were Ibis-light plus lizard turds crunching under sliding doors. Hot water sporadic. Cable TV and internet intermittent in more distant (quiet) rooms. Plus was that ATM worked some of the time, restaurant was not bad at all and pool area quite pleasant. Location five minutes from airport (but shuttle elusive at best) and across from US Embassy convenient for escaping and arriving.

I would like to thank the entire team who were present during my visit for their welcome and service, because overall they were all very warm.
I was able to enjoy a moment of solo relaxation on this magnificent O’FINGO terrace, where life is good!!!

This is the worst hotel I have ever seen in terms of management. It is now 12AM and people are shouting in the corridor and nobody cares despite complaints by other customers, this is disgusting. I tried to calmly speak to them and they shouted at me, Where is the receptionist?

I walked from the airport to this hotel. People along the way were waving and smiling. Hotel staffs smirked at me at checkin. I had business in American embassy. After completion, during check out, another group of staffs flashed same smirk. Get your acts together. Welcome with smile. Also at check out.

Response from lepat73, Directeur général at ONOMO Hotel Libreville
Responded Dec 9, 2018
Hello "brigettimoog" I want to congratulate you because to travel from the airport, 5km with your luggage, in the warmth of Gabon, it is a performance. Also when you arrived, you didn't even ask to see me. The hospitality of the local people and of my colleagues did not please you and that is your right. It's a pity to write such a comment under a pseudonym. However, once again Congratulation for your performance. My team and I will be delighted to come to your next visit to pick you up at the airport with the free shuttle from ONOMO Libreville. Kind regards Patrick Delaide

The Onomo is brand new - or seems to be. The rooms are basic but comfortable. The hallways are always hot, dark and lack any sense of warmth...the place feels a bit like a gulag. In fact, there is an absence of light in almost every section of this place so bring a headlamp if you want to successfully navigate your room (not kidding). They're also ridiculously dark. You can't shave, put on make-up, read a book or do much that requires light because you're allocated one lamp in the room and some bad flourescents...that's it. There are no mosquito killers, sprays, etc. and the hotel doesn't have any - which I can imagine. The hot water isn't hot - it more like warm(ish) and apparently toilet paper is in rare supply because you're allocated 1/4 rolls every day. There's a safe but absent adequate lighting in the room it's damn near impossible to use because you can't see the keys. There's no furniture on the balconies so you can't enjoy the gardens (which are in fact very lovely). They won't tell you that you can order food for breakfast so keep that in mind - they'd rather you have a semi-fresh croissant and some watery coffee from the machine. The front desk by and large are just RUDE AND NOT HELPFUL. I'm not saying that because of the French thing - I'm saying that because when you make a request that maybe isn't common - the answer is just no. There is no going above and beyond in this hotel from day to day. You'll get plenty of attitude - the wrong kind - and that's about it. The wait staff are nice but horribly slow - unless of course they want you to sign your bill - then they're extremely efficient. Don't even try to ask for a snack or something to eat if you miss their cutoff because they will actually tell you that there's no food in the entire hotel. I was working 18 hour days and couldn't make the dinner time window. I asked for a croissant - the answer - NO. No consideration, no exception, no help. The internet is good...that's about all I can say about this place. The Meridien is in town, on the beach, has a pool...the internet is horrible there and the place smells a bit stale but the manager is a tremendous guy and the hotel seems to at least understand the notion of service above all else. The Onomo is built directly across from the new US Embassy - which will be the only reason that this place survives given the nasty bunch at the front desk. My advice - consider an alternative...buy a 3G dongle from Airtel and get your own internet. (There's no pool or fitness center so I can't even rate those...). It's also near the airport - which means away from town - which means you'll sit in traffic. I cannot, given the front desk, recommend this hotel.

This is Africa and by African standards this hotel is not bad at all. I have recently had two stays of ten days and must say I have little to complain about. Yes, the rooms are small by those US standards but always clean. Who needs ten towels, the A/C works well as does the WiFi. OK the restaurant does not look so exciting, but hey the food is decent and the service generally rather good. What makes this place at times special is that the staff smile...and are very friendly. Give them the chance and they do a great job. This is a new emerging country and has an exciting future.

The rooms are SMALL (4m x 4m) and dark.
Bring ear plugs - the tiniest sound in the hallway, echoes through the rooms. Slamming doors, loud mouth or drunk guests seem amplified.
The lighting in the rooms is poor and low. The light fixtures are not ceiling mounted or overhead - a very unnatural feeling.
There is no plug near the mirror, so women preparing their hair do not have a mirror to use.
Shower stall does not have a curtain or glass door. The shower drain is too small and water backs up onto the shower pan. However, the shower pan is only 30cm deep. Being that the curb is only 30cm high, so water flows out into the room (in front of the sink).
There is no closet or drawers in the room in which to store you clothes or luggage. Plan on living out of your suitcase.
No pool, though they have a courtyard in which they SHOULD HAVE ONE!
The in room Internet is WI-FI and work wonderfully for this technologically backwards country.
The room has a safe that will accommodate a laptop computer. A great asset.
Only one towel was provided (no hand towel or 2nd bath towel).
The entire room had ceramic tile floors. They were cold and not clean. A glossy substance was splattered across my floor. The rooms needs to be MOPPED with bleach between guests!
Airport flight path is nearby. You will hear planes taking off. Since this is not a busy airport, it shouldn't be a big problem.
When I arrived, the sliding glass door (only window) was UNLOCKED. 3 travel companions discovered the same thing in their rooms. Security concern - staff staging for a burglary or locks are poor quality. I travel with a few "thumb screw" window track locks. It worked great!
PROS:
clean - but, floors need mopping!
wifi
room safe
strong A/C
great location - directly across from New US Embassy
CONS:
Tiny rooms (like prison cells)
terrible lighting
no closet
no drawers
no alarm clock
no bottled water provided
no pool
One towel
Poor shower design
No secondary lock on sliding glass door
Aircraft noise

SO not impressed with this place. If you are vegetarian, you get a mushroom omelette and salad every day. Nothing else on the menu. There were no towels in my shabby room when I arrived. If you speak English, be prepared to be completely ignored by the staff.
This place is on the opposite side of the airport from town, so it takes 10 mins by taxi to get to city centre, which you will need to to liven up your eating experiences.
There are no shops near this hotel. None. There are no bars or restaurants closer than a 20-30 minute walk.
The ATM works sporadically. Wifi in rooms works only if you get a room close to reception, and good luck arranging that. Otherwise prepare to spend a lot of time on the lobby.
There is no drinking water provided in the room and no tea/coffee making facilities.

Response from Titiane M, Responsable commercial at ONOMO Hotel Libreville
Responded Nov 25, 2019
Dear Guest, We thank you for your comment and we are sorry that your stay did not go as you would have liked. We confirm you that we do have some staff at the reception who do speak English. Regarding the shop, there is one in a walking distance just across the main road. Also, near that shop called PRIX IMPORT, there are restaurants so we do not understand when you said that there is no shop or restaurants. About the ATM, it is true that it is in our hotel but it belongs to the bank and there is nothing that we can do to make it work. WIFI connection sometimes can have disturbances however, you just had to report it at the reception. Sincerely
