5 stars for the staff of the Desalegn Hotel Addis Ababa Ethiopia ! Now, it's not new, shining bright and gleaming ...... But the people who work at the Desalegn Hotel are diamonds, especially Judy at the front desk. Totally nice, totally attentive, totally honest, totally awesome. For the best location, safety, internet and customer service stay at the Desalegn...

I hate writing negative reviews, but for the money I don't think the Desalegn is the best value if you're staying for more than a couple of days. As usual, the staff is very nice and they try to be helpful. My comments only apply to my 6th floor accommodations. Others might, of course, be better (or worse). My room:...

Stayed here for a week. Centrally located and accessible to the restaurants shops and tourists spots which are just a few minutes ride by taxi. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Service was good. Offers a free wifi. Rooms was quite nice and spacious. close to the airport. Looks like a simple hotel with a character.

Centrally located reasonably priced clean & friendly hotel with good solicitous staff. Good rooms in serviceable state. Adequate restaurant with fair range of meals served well at a fair price. Recommended.

I had a very good week long stay. The service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was okay and there are many other dining options in the immediate neighborhood. What I liked best were the huge weddings held there, two during my stay. It was a very up-close look at Ethiopian culture. The only negative was that wifi was unstable...

The hotel remembers its better days, especially bathrooms are quite shabby. However, it is clean and quite comfortable. Staff is friendly, but it is extremely difficult to get someone on the reception on the phone (a colleague who was not quite well stayed in the hotel and it took me literally half a day and almost a dozen of different...

Large rooms and adequately comfortable. On a budget this is a good place to stay, rooms at the back tend to be noisier because of dogs etc! Food acceptable and breakfast are good value, range of wines available. Ethiopian ones were surprisingly good. Helpful nd attentive service when the odd thing goes wrong. There is a useful shebeen next door.

The Desalegn had some pros & cons - but on balance I would not stay again. On pros - the shuttle picked me up from the airport (but took 30 mins to arrive), I was quickly checked in, the room was big, the hotel felt safe, tv had lots of channels, hot water every day and breakfast was fine (I...

Why waste $200-$300 a night on a hotel near by when you can have a great location to all central business district locations, restaurants, & night life ? Cheap & easy. No reason to spend so much more- especially on your own budget.

Nice place to stay, worth the money. Rooms are well cleaned. Very quick laundry service, hotel serves complementary breakfast which is awesome. Staff are very co operative and serve with smile. Bad part is kitchen closes at 10 pm and u are left in the hands of bar service.
