I had to lay over in Addis Ababa after flying in from Cape Town and my connecting flight was only scheduled for the next morning - Ethiopian Air provided a voucher for the hotel. The process to exit the airport was time consuming as they only had a few of the cubicles manned for passport control - what is it with not planning to have sufficient personnel around when you know flights are landing? The hotel was not what I expected - run down and tatty. The linen was clean, though. I did not venture to try the breakfast before departure. Not a place I would frequent again!
Ethiopian Airlines organised this as a transit hotel. The shuttle bus is old. The hotel is old, the rooms are old. The bedside lamp was not wired properly. The lift is clunky. The hotel is in desperate need of a revamp. The food was very ordinary. The only hope was the staff who were very happy to serve. I'm sorry but I would elect to stay there again.
I was allocated to this hotel during an overnight layover with Ethiopian Airlines. Old but reasonably functional building. Elevator did not work (and I was on the 6th floor), WiFi was only working in certain areas of the hotel, and food selection, while edible, was very limited and nothing special. Reception spoke very limited English. Room was clean and bed comfortable at least. OK option if you are on a tight budget and just want a basic place to crash and have a bite to eat and don't mind old facilities. Not a great option as a business hotel though.
This hotel is located a little far away from the downtown and Meksel Square area, but the neighbourhood is not unpleasant. My room was OK, could have done with a bit of a reno, but most things functioned and it was comfortable enough. Service not particularly good though, and there was one very arrogant man at reception who was a nightmare to deal with. For this reason alone, I would probably not stay here again.
I was interested to see a nice and luxury place since it was my first time to be in Ethiopia. The name is so nice so I was expecting more. They have a comfortable shuttle bus which I liked. The hotel`s location is so nice even the hotel itself .The rooms are cleaned nicely.Melt Tesfaye the receptionist is a well trained person there she is social and knows what she is doing. The food was very very bad and the service was unprofessional.
