Great location and great value. The rooms are perfect and the staff is amazing. They gladly helped us with our requests. ATMs are just next the front door, so no need to move from the hotel to withdraw the money. I'll definitely come back here next time in Addis Ababa

The conditions of the rooms have really gone down. Nice place to stay, nice food and affordable price 5 minutes drive to airport. I like Caravan and its location, but they need to invest in new mattresses. Room was fine, had everything we needed. Bedside lamp wasn’t working though.

I stayed with this property in December, 2023. In years of travel to Ethiopia, I've rarely had a poor experience. The room had numerous cockroaches in the bathroom and bedroom. The bathtub was not connected to the floor, and there was consistently no water pressure and no hot water.
Additionally, at check out, I was told by the staff of the hotel that I had never paid for my stay. I had paid online, but according to the staff, that was only a 'booking fee.' Coincidentally, the charge they said I owed at checkout was the same as the nightly rate I had already paid for online. I had to catch a flight, and did not have time to dispute with the staff, but this was clearly a scam.

I stayed here for one night as it was the designated hotel chosen by my airline for a transit sleepover. Now I'm not sure if there was a separate (cheaper) package for such visitors but the stay left so so much to be desired. The bathtub had a leakage, no toothpaste in the room (they could've at least provided a mini size), no tea/coffee available (just a bottle of water). The buffet breakfast was honestly the worst I've ever experienced, the food was bland, tasteless and dry/dead; the restaurant staff's body language portrayed very obvious reluctance (almost annoyance) when asked for things as basic as butter or coffee - they honestly need to do better (even if this was a "transit passenger" package as I suspect was the case. I've made a mental note to never have a return visit, not even as a transit visitor.

Spent one night here because someone recommended the place. Road was damaged and full of dust.
Only plus points are that the place is closed to the airport, okay breakfast and very supportive restaurant staff.
Room is smelly and difficult to breath. Bathroom is quite big. They had to change my room because my room door cannot lock from the inside. Next room is a disaster. TV is available with 4 local channels. But no remote. Bed linens are not clean and had some wet stains. God knows what. Night receptionist can barely manage English language. So it’s waste of time for asking another room change. Ended up sleeping with full clothes on. Average internet connection. Bed pillows are so dirty seems never washed after couple of people used them. Totally waste of money and really bad experience.

Poor staffing. Poor management. They send their guards to your roomfor any services. No bellboys. No waiters. Unethical receptionists!!! They don't know how to treat customers. Terrible place to stay. Please do not come to here specially with your wife and kids. They give you a heart attack.

The hotel is located in the middle of the village around Bole International Airport. It is a nice small hotel. All the restaurant services are given in 1st floor. The room is nice with fair price. It is easy to access for your international flight they have shuttle services.

Thank you all the staff and management of the Caravan Hotel for my excellent stay for a fortnight due to the travel restrictions because of Coronavirus. You too extraordinary and personal care of me. Despite the difficult circumstances, you maintained high professionalism, smiling hospitality and utmost cleanliness. You have proven yourselves to be some of the best in the travel industry in Ethiopia. Thank you and keep it up.

Avoid! I’ve written 60+ reviews and this is my first bad one. Cockroaches in the bed and my toothbrush. A single teabag (no milk). Wake up calls don’t come & nearly missed plane. Half my laundry lost and told I must make arrangements to mail it back. Never answer communications. There are much better places in Addis.

Restaurant is good but a bit untidy. The food is good but allow some time before it reaches your table. Seems a staff shortage. They could take more interest in upgrading the restaurant.
There are more places to choose from in the Addis Ababa area.
