Hotel was in the Main Street of Gondar. Smooth quick check in and check out. Staffs are nice friendly helpful. Rooms are decent, spacious. WiFi is good in room and at reception. Hot water for shower available. Was a bit noisy due to facing street side when open window. Room service was good and quick. Food is decent. Breakfast has good selection with eggs made to order

Hotel is located in a bit of a quiet area. Staff is really friendly and they clean your room on daily base. WiFi connection is really good!! Restaurant is good and very flexible. They cook the dish you would like to eat! Some things that might be improved: locker and a refrigerator on the room would be nice. Also shower was a bit broken but was nice warm water to use!

AG Palace Hotel is located at heart of Addis in 22 Mazoria, one the best locations to get to anywhere in the city very easily. Rooms are squeaky clean and offer great view of the surrounding from the balcony. Excellent internet service with a very high speed wifi at any location in the hotel. The breakfast that comes with the room is eclectic, extremely tasty and most importantly has the feel and wholesomeness of a home cooked meal. Starting from my arrival to the day I checked out, I was treated to a high quality personalized service with smile and great attitude from all the staff. I was pleasantly surprised to find such a fantastic hotel in this part of Addis for a very reasonable price. AG Palace is a gem in Addis. Go check it out!

I discovered Ag Palace Hotel after browsing through reviews and rankings on tripadvisor. Ag Palace Hotel seemed like good value for the price. Reviews about the hotel's Internet connection were fairly good, which is important to me since I require reliable Internet connection for my line of work. After checking into my room at about 6 PM I noticed the TV was very small (about 24 inches or less resembling a computer monitor) and only a couple of channels were operational. Moreover, the sliding door next to my fourth floor balcony would not completely close, slightly causing cold air to enter the room. Most importantly, the WiFi in my room was non-functional on both my laptop and smart phone. I notified the receptionist who asked me to come downstairs to check if the WiFi worked for me in the restaurant, lobby, and/or first floor. The Internet connection was intermittent downstairs and very slow with an average speed of less than 50 KB/s (kilobytes per second). The receptionist tried resetting the Internet connection, which did not make a difference. Then her supervisor or manager came over and they both informed me that the WiFi worked fine on their mobile phone. I'm not sure what they consider "fine", but the web pages on my laptop would not completely load at less than 50 KB/s. After spending close to an hour trying to sort out Internet connection problems I decided Ag Palace Hotel was not worth my time or money and I asked the receptionist and supervisor/manager to provide me with a refund, but they refused. The two said they couldn't refund my money since I booked online, which made no sense to me. As I exited the hotel at about 7:30 PM, there were no taxi cabs in sight and no street lights on the unpaved road next to the hotel. I asked the security guards if one of them could help me find a taxi cab near the main road, but they said they were not supposed to leave the premise. I went back inside the hotel and asked the receptionist if someone could help guide me to the main road so I could find a taxi cab. She jokingly asked me if I was scared to which I replied that I didn't feel safe on an unlit and unpaved road in Addis Ababa after dark. The receptionist then offered to have another hotel worker guide me to the main road. Later the same night, I booked a room at the Monarch Hotel in Bole where I actually found relatively high-speed Internet access. The average speed at the Monarch Hotel was at least 500 KB/s, which is ten times faster than Ag Palace Hotel. Overall, my experience was horrible at Ag Palace Hotel and I will not be returning. I hope this experience was an isolated incident and not representative of Ag Palace Hotel.
